Yup 100% the Space Crusade Chaos Marine. He's a line trooper or maybe a heavy weapon trooper, depending on what weapon you gave him, the Commander had more elaborate armour.

Oh man, the nostalgia is palpable. My entry into GW right there.

Let’s see if we can’t revive the thread with some recently finished classic 2nd Ed Orks;

And why not some High Elves too

Hi Gobert - these guys will def get some paint, but think they may stay 'original' rather than get the 'Mad Dok' treatment. I've got a few other conversion projects bubbling along in the back of my mind and sometimes its nice to just paint things

I'll link some pics here when they're done!

Thank you gobert, darkkt, and Kayback, those are great pics! I love the commander, reminds me of Lucius the Eternal.

My painting log is full of snakes

I picked up this model as part of a job lot a while back. He was missing his head, which I tracked down for a couple of quid on eBay. Finally got around to assembling him and putting some paint down. I don't have an AM army for him, I just liked the sculpt, always wanted to paint one since I was a kid and finally got around to it this afternoon.

I've never painted a "human" model before, and this is my first time painting hair and stubble. I really enjoyed myself.

Very nice job on the Ogryn, r_squared

I have a bunch of those guys, im saving them for an old school Blood Axe project, gonna see if I can orkify them a bit maybe.

I just finished these for my Guard, they are a bit bigger, like more heroic innit

I'm not very good at photos so you can't really tell, but re: hair, to get the effect of a shaved head I just did less/thinner coats of flesh over the black basecoat (im painting quickly with just washes, no highlights) - your's looks awesome though, must have taken a while.

Under the couch

A few bits and pieces that I've been re-photographing lately for my Workbench blog...

RT-era Squat Techpriest:

2nd Edition Ork Shokk Attack Gun:

2nd Edition Chaos Dreadnought, converted and painted back in 1996:

RT-era plastic Marine - the start of a new force for 2nd edition 40K games.

And a little something that I've been tinkering with, as a start to adding some of the newer army additions to the 2nd edition Necron lineup...

Very nice, is that freehand on the squat tech-priest shoulder pads?

Have some mid-80s GW Nippon figs...

Back then GW used to release multiple slight variants of the same base sculpt, this is every variant of the same Aly Morrison mini, from the OH4 Ronin Renegades and OH5 Oriental Champions ranges.

A grot bomb from Forgeworld's Ork range. It was an E-bay purchase so I don't have the wartrack-based launcher that went with it. I noticed that this kit is no longer listed on the FW website, so I thought it would fit in here.

My painting project for the month. Two of them were part of my BA army and getting transferred to my Ultras, but the captain has never seen paint.

No, unfortunately it didn't come with the banner pole but one of the other Terminators I got had a banner pole which I might use even if it's not the right one.

Very nice! Gotta love the old 4 foot bayonets on the original SM line.
