x3 5man tac squad w/ meltagun, plasma pistol, power weapon

x3 3man Ravenwing Attack squads w/ 2 meltas, attack bike w/ MM

The idea is to use the rhinos and razorbacks as screens for the bikes. The plasma pistol for the sarge is there to take advantage of the second firing point on a rhino. I know for a marine list this is kinda squishy but I'm hoping vehicle saturation will help. Any thoughts?

I am not a fan of Meltas on Bikes. The have to get to close and get assaulted. That is not the place you want bikes to be in. I would make them Plasmaguns.

Looks pretty interesting though. Would be nice if you could get the tacs in R-Backs too.

If I drop the power weapons from the tac squads, I can upgrade al the bike meltas to plasmaguns. That would also give me the points for an RW apothecary too. I'm not sure about the razorbacks, I'd have to drop a tac squad to get the points. Also, since DA are limited to only TL-Las and TL-HB razorbacks, I would just get expensive vehicles with weapons that are likely to be rendered useless early, and no fire points to fire the melta out of.

After some thinking, I've modified my list a bit

HQ
Sammael w/ Landspeeder

Elite
x2 Vet squads w/ PG, MM, p-fist in rhinos

Troops
x3 5man tac squad w/ meltagun, p-fists in lasbacks

x2 3man Ravenwing Attack squads w/ 2 meltas, attack bike w/ MM

Fast Attack
x3 Typhoon speeders w/ MM

Heavy Support
x2 Preds w/ side-sponson HB

This list adds significantly more bodies with a lot of AP1 and 2 death.I have 15 points left over, not sure where to spend them. Also, I'm thinking about taking it to a tournament next month. Any thoughts?

I think it looks pretty good. That is alot of low AP weapons.

If I take out all the fists, I can turn the 3 tac squads in lasbacks to 2 tac squads in lasbacks and 2 in razorbacks. Not sure if that's a good idea or not though.

What kinda roll do you want your Tac squads to fill?

If you want them to hunt Tanks then Keeping the P-fists are probably a good idea.

Drop the fists. How close do you really want to get to a vehicle? And if a dread locks you up, take melta bombs.

Yeah, I think I'll keep the p-fists. Then I can have use the veterans as a counter assault unit as needed also.

Could drop the MM off of the Vets and beef them up a bit. I don't really see the MM helping out that much really. Could take a combi, even though they are a bit much in the DA dex.

I run Vets in my 2500 pt Ard Boyz list, all power weapons and storm shields, with a chaplain as an assault squad. Very pricey, but it sometimes catches people off guard enough to divert some attention from other units.

That is pretty sick. I am guess just 5 guys?

I used to use ten vets, then I pared them down to afford other upgrades.

Wow so 20% of your army was in one squad. WOW!

Thats silly enough to work.

Any particular reason you chose the vets over another squad of deathwing?

I still can't see that accounting for the point cost. A squad of 5 vets with PW/SS is 250pts, more if you take a transport. How do you deal with MCs or walkers? 5 deathwing with TH/SS are only 215pts and have no problem with MCs or walkers. And if you take belial, they're also scoring. I understand that termies can't pursue, but does that really justify the point cost and drawbacks?

One of the main reasons I pared them down to 5 was to afford some melta bombs for the squad and to be able to pack them into a lazerback for anti-tank guns. They are a bit more mobile, carry bolt pistols, and can have melta bombs. That's why I use vets, primarily now in my 1750 list.

Thats a big chunk of points for a 1750 army.

I like it as its differnt and not cookie cutter. I wouldn't mind seeing that 1750 list. If you don't mind.

Interesting list to say the least.

Do you Deep strike the other 2 squads of Terminators? i am guess Beliel and his squad with the Chaplain goes in the Crusader.

Doesn't seem to have a lot of punch.

Belial and his squad go in the LRC. The chaplain is attached to the vets squad in the lazerback. I try to avoid deep striking to keep the termis from dying as they usually do when they teleport.

Not with the bikes t-port homer. But Yeah I really don't like to DS them without the bikes.

How come the AC's on the terms instead of CML's? I think the CML's are better for sure. I also don't see a need for the C-Fist unless there are alot of Land raiders around where you play.
