Well, what would you like?
If you like the idea of lots of Orks riding around in big vehicles with bis spiked rollers on the front, go with a Battlewagon Spam list.
If you like the idea of a fair number of walkers running around, go with Kan Wall.
If you want to flood the field with Boyz and drown your opponent in a sea of Green, go for a green tide list.
At 1,000pts, I think that Green tide is probably the best, as battlewagons generally fill the area around 2,000 and Kan Wall fills the area around 1,500. I've just quickly rattled off a 1,000pt Green Tide-esc list which can be seen below. You don't have to go with this though. I'd recommend picking up the codex, having a good flick through and see which units appeal to you, and then we can build a list around that idea.
HQ:
Big Mek: 120
-Cybork Body
-Power Klaw
-Kustom Force Field
Big Mek: 120
-Cybork Body
-Power Klaw
-Kustom Force Field
Troops
25 Slugga Boyz: 190
-Nob w/ Power Klaw and Bosspole
25 Slugga Boyz: 190
-Nob w/ Power Klaw and Bosspole
25 Shoota Boyz: 190
-Nob w/ Power Klaw and Bosspole

in 1,000pts your opponent will really struggle to put down enough power to clean 100 boyz off the table, especially when they all have 5+ cover saves. The only place where I can see this list struggling is against fast moving skimmer based armies like Dark Eldar and Eldar, as they can try to avoid your boyz even if they are spreading out everywhere, to avoid losing kill points and simply tank shock onto your objectives late game. You don't have any shooting to take them down. Maybe reduce the boyz squads to 20, cheapen the meks a bit and put some Lootas in there.
Hope this is useful.

Alternatively Trukk spam is fairly decent at 1k or if your looking for a fun and decent list you could use lots of bikes.

Yeah, trukks work at 1k. At 1k I've got a list for 3 battlewagon mobs and 5 lootas. That's quite a lot for 1k....very difficult to deal with.

If you're playing for fun the Shokk Attack Gun is great but hit and miss as you get different effects rolling for the Strength. Maybe warboss on a bike as it's fun AND can destroy tanks. Otherwise you're better off with a Big mek and KFF. I played three games with 2 BW and all trukks and without a KFF they get toasted by turn 2.

Stormboyz are maybe a bit weak for their points with only T-shirts, sluggas and choppas, but they are fast, and probably a lot of orky fun to use.

Been tryin to answer this for hours and work keeps interfering, lol. Infinitely better, but they serve different purposes. Stormboyz are just boyz as jump infantry for double the cost. Warbikes are rapid response fire support, and an occasional well-placed assault. Here's the thing about Stormboyz: A full mob of 20 with the PK, BP nob costs 280. I field the same group of boyz in a battlewagon for 285 to 290 points normally. For 5-10 points, I'll take an AV14 transport with a 4+, that can deffroll before, during, and after disembarking troops. Warbikes are expensive, and tougher on paper than they are in play. A 4+ armor and cover save with T5 still dies 50% of the time for every save it must make=P. Either way, phenominal dakka, good assault, rapid response. Placement is crucial. You'll learn them if you consistently use them.
