Elites:

5 x Crushers w/ Full Command - 240

Looks a little weak on troops for a 2500 point list.

But, if you get Annihilation, your going to kick some serious a**. Bubble wrap fateweaver with your 3 princes, and bubble wrap that with 15 crushers, and that makes for one hell of a death star.

Who's your partner, and what armies will you face?

Hi mate, cheers for the reply!

The list is quite low on troops, but my partner is CSM and I believe he'll have a pretty large complement of troops in rhinos to claim objectives. However, your point is duly noted and I might drop a few crushers and letters to make room for another unit of horrors or a unit of plaguebearers to hide somewhere on an objective. Our opponents are two 2000 point Ork armies and 1000 points of Eldar.

If you can, try to get a large unit of horrors for the orks. 20 horrors pumps out 60 str 4 ap 4 shots, put them around fateweaver and they have decent staying power as well.
Oh, and 20 PH wont get totaly murdered in CC

Too slow. Not enough troops.

I always recommend 2 fiend units and 1 crusher for elites

Hello! Its good to see some more daemon players! Here are my suggestions on how I would field it....

HQ:

Fateweaver - 333
Bloodthirster - Blessing, UM - 275 (perfect build everytime. but consider Skarbrand running with crushers. It works well. Also, I suggest running the Masque and Scribes for more antitank and a lure for your crushers. The scribes bring some much needed antitank and they can also do the pavane to act as the lure. Thats 4 Pavanes! Pretty much all the good stuff of slaanesh in a bottle)

Elites:

5 x Crushers w/ Full Command - 240 (Solid)
5 x Crushers w/ Full Command - 240
5 x Crushers w/ FoK, Inst - 215 (now heres a moment of debate. Do you even need the 2nd and third 3rd icons on the crushers? I know its for wound allocation, but its 50 pts that could be used else where. Say, in giving the horrors an icon to make sure that either half of your army will have an icon and then a bolt. Thats the way I would set up 2 Icons, one in each half. The crusher Icon wont die lol.)

Troops: (units of 5x for horrors, allows for better positioning and more bolts.)

5 x Horrors w/ Bolt, Changeling - 100
5 x Horrors w/ Bolt - 95
5 x Horrors w/ Bolt - 95
5 x Horrors w/ Bolt - 95
10 x Bloodletters w/ FoK - 170 ( interesting with fury, never thought of using for anti transport)
10x Bloodletters - 160

Heavy Support:

Daemon Prince w/ MoT, Bolt, Daemonic Gaze - 160
Daemon Prince w/ MoT, Bolt, Daemonic Gaze - 160
Daemon Prince w/ MoT, Bolt, Daemonic Gaze - 160

Cheers for the replies!

@faheykeyes - A 20 Horror blob is a fun idea, but I'd probably rather have the extra bolts and smaller footprint that the smaller units allow me in case of battlewagons/trukks so I can drop them in behind if need be. As well, then its less of a loss if I need to drop one in a corner somewhere on an objective.

@Zid - I'm pretty committed to staying with the crushers for fluff reasons, and I've found fiends to not work so well for me. My local meta has loads and loads of shooting, and Fiends tend to just melt away so I haven't invested in any as yet. Since the orks will be coming to me speed shouldn't be too much of an issue. Will add more troops though, I am definitely light in that category.

@xSoulgrinderx - Thats a handy list, and Skarbrand would be good fun. Considering that its not going to be the most competitive of games I might give him a go. I hadn't thought of running a few crusher units without icons, its not a bad way to grab some extra points. However, if it came to cutting from the crusher units I'd almost rather drop an extra regular guy just to keep the 4 wound allocation options. I like the troops suggestions, I'll change my troops to match that. 6 different units gives me good options for objective holding and with the even number of unit types I can balance my waves pretty well.

The way soulgrinder split your troops is looking good. Just be sure to hide behind your Crushers, and take the occasional objective. I think the CSM player will have to hold the majority of your teams objectives as 5 PH will die quickly compared to Plague Marines in a Rhino.

Remember, skarbrand's 24" re-roll affects your enemy too, and with 2 lots of 2000 points of orks, its probably best to leave it at home. Or face that wrath of 100000000 dice ;P

What is likely to be your first wave?

The Daemon build that made it to Adepticon ran Skarbrand and Fateweaver. That particular build is EXTREMELY competitive and covers a huge number of weaknesses in the Daemon codex.

I agree with Soul on the icons, I would put one on the Crushers and one on a large 'letter unit to go to ground if you get your non-preferred wave - combine the 2 squads of 10 into one squad of 16-18. Then use the icon/'letter points for more crushers.

Orks tend to have quite low Initiative, though. Most things besides Horrors will be getting to attack first, so with re-rolls to hit they'll be taking out a nice chunk of Orks before they get to swing back.

Wyches, halbard purifiers, gk termis, etc.... There's quite a few things I don't want rerolling hits that may be hitting first most the time. Plus the bt's flight is far better than fleet.

The OP's looking to be fighting 4,000 points of Orks and 1,000 points of Eldar, though. Against just those enemies even Khorne daemons will be attacking first more often than not, particularly if they get their Furious Charges. The biggest thing I'd be scared of is giving Orks the re-roll aura while they're attacking his CSM teammate.

Definately a bit low on troops I think, Iv got a 2500pt list and it has around 100 troops in it.

Big hordes of Daemons are fun.

Chaos Daemons- Approx 5000pts
Slaanesh Daemons- 1500pts, in progress
Khorne Daemons- 1500pts, in progress
Death Korps of Krieg- Plans being formulated.
---------------------------------------------------
High Elves- Approx 2000pts
Vampire Counts- Raising the dead once more

Zid, Halbreds and GK Termies all re-roll to hit against you anyway. The Wyches you should mow through anyway (you are going to cause a lot of wounds with WS5 and S5 - besides the issue with DE is not wyches, it is ripping down those floating poison aircraft.

The asset Skar brings is he lets you re-roll against vehicles, which is hugely important. It doubles the number of hits against vehicles moving at cruising speed and adds 50% to the ones moving at combat speed.

Valid points caly, forgot pe daemons on gk (only faced em once with my daemons). Suppose other than nids, which have pe from stupid tyrants normally anyway, very little reason not to run em.
