Hey,

Planning a foot guard hybrid list. Plan is for CCS to remain in cover, whilst letting the Sentinels outflank. The first PCS will use BiD on itself, making the Lascannon better. The second will ride in the Vendetta, making a rapid assault unit. The Sentinels will outflank and try to get some side armour and rear armour shots with the AC. HWS will keep in cover and shoot as normal. Ratlings should be there for any MCs that I play.

HQ

Company Command Squad with Company Commander (Power Weapon), Medic, Regimental Standard, Heavy Flamer and Astropath - 155pts

Troops

Infantry Platoon - 265pts
|Platoon Command Squad With Lascannon and Vox
|Infantry Squad with Meltagun
|Infantry Squad with Meltagun
|HWS with 3 Autocannons

Infantry Platoon
|Platoon command Squad with 4 Flamers and Power Weapon
|Infantry Squad with Vox
|Infantry Squad with Autocannon
|HWS with 3 Lascannons

Fast Attack

Scout Sentinel Squadron with 3 Scout Sentinels. 3 Autocannons and 3 HK - 150pts

Vendetta - 130pts

Elites

3 Ratlings - 30pts

Total = 1000pts

many of your units are bloated. Take out the ratlings, drop the hks on the sentinals, pick up a commissar in each blob.

PCS cannot issues BiD

Here are some ideas to consider:

Drop Voxes

Add commissars

Drop ratlings

Medic and HF are not really worth it in CCS

And Drop HK from Sent.

Looks very interesting. A very unique battle plan. But the meltas... On the guard squads. How do you plan to move them so close. You need a 12'' for shooting and 6'' to be able to actually have the wanted effect. Either get some chimeras on them but that means you need to swap some points around. hmm....
Maybe swap the 2 of them for 1 vet squad with 3 meltas and then they ride in the vendetta.

You already know what I said BlapBlap
But don't drop the HK's they have done well for me on my Sentie's, Its always nice to shove a missile down a tail pipe when they arn't looking and as your firing all three of them one of them is bound to hit

This.

This is what i would do, and this is just my oppion

Afew things I would change;
Only having 2 vox-coms in the whole list? I'd give every one one or no one but thats just me (all my squads have a voxs, i just like the look and its nice to be able to re-roll the failed orders).

Also the second platoon, I'd take the HWS and the 2 inf squads and dump them in the first platoon, take the meltas from platoon 1 and give them to a vet squad that can ride in the Vendetta. Decent mobilaty for the vets and a good killing or striking platform to scratch AV14.

The HQ, the Medic and the heavy flamer. While its nice to have that feel no pain and being able to toast almost any thing that comes near you the chances are that if your close enough to use the flamer your already dead. Try putting a vox in there as well as a heavy weapon like a missle luancher or auto-cannon. That way you can also put a MoO in there as well. Use the CCS as the keystone of your force, remember it can give 2 orders and some of them are quite useful

With the savings you shoud be able to get another scout sentinel in the list, then you can run them as 2 squads of 2. This will devide your damage out put but, it will mean that your opponent will have to split his fire.

But as I said its just my oppion, at lest try using your set up in combat afew times and see how it fares.

Also whats wrong with Ratlings? My snipers do quite well for me.

Nothing is really "wrong" with ratlings, for a sniper rifle with stealth they are actually pretty good. But they feel more like a point filler than anything else. You can get much more done putting those points elsewhere such as 3 AC's, 3 Melta guns, 6 flamers, almost a commissar to make those platoons not run.

Sure, ratlings can do ok, but with some of the not as used upgrades in this list removed, including ratlings, they can add up to something more useful. Potentially even Marbo or more properly fitted infantry squads.

Do you actually need a Commissar for everybody? That's about 210pts for everybody in the Platoons.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So, updated the list;

HQ

Company Command Squad with Company Commander (Power Weapon), Lascannon, Vox, Carapace Armour and Astropath - 155pts

Troops

Infantry Platoon - 235pts
|Platoon Command Squad With Vox
|Infantry Squad with Meltagun and Vox
|Infantry Squad with Meltagun
|HWS with 3 Autocannons

Infantry Platoon - 300pts
|Platoon command Squad with 3 Flamers and Medic
|Infantry Squad with Vox
|Infantry Squad with Autocannon
|HWS with 3 Lascannons

Fast Attack

Scout Sentinel Squadron with 3 Scout Sentinels. 3 Autocannons and 3 HK - 150pts

Scout Sentinel Squadron with 3 Scout Sentinels - 105pts

Rough Riders - 55pts

Total = 1000pts

CCS is going to use BiD on itself to boost the Lascannon, along with possibly the Lascannon HWS that'll be with it. Astropath will help ALOT with reserves, i.e Sentinels and possibly an outflanking Vendetta (Not going to deep strike such a large, expensive model)

The second Platoon Command Squad will ride in the Vendetta, flaming and chopping away, probably using the Move! Move! Move! order on themselves until they get into combat. Rough Riders will simply charge into the hardest unit on the board (They'll probably mince a few Terminators!)

Sentinels will outflank (Using Astropath) along the side of the board, hoping to crack open some rear and side armour, with the HKs there for any high AV vehicles. Meltagun squads of Guard will go on objectives, staying in cover and shooting at any enemies that come nearby. In KP, they'll do the same thing.

Commissars are very very nice if you plan on blobbing those squads. As it would only take a handful then you have to take a leadership test and if they fail they run.

Also if you get them into CC, well you dont have any power weapons, so chances are more likely you will take more casualties and then have to take a leadership test - how many you lost, often more than 6 resulting in the need for double 1's.

That being said I would drop the PW from the CCS, you dont want them in CC anyways, and give it to a blob sgt. Bu tits your list, give it a few runs and make changes accordingly.

Not planning to blob my squads, I'm afraid. I need mobility, hence the Sentinels and Rough Riders.

I suppose that no PW could be an inconvenience, but 10pts is better spent.

Actually, that makes sense. They're going to be staying at the back with HWS using BiD. 10pts could be spent on my assaulty PCS.
