i like it personally it looks fun... not sure how competative it will be... your right about the vets... and fleet only does so much... your stikk floot slogging a possible 7 inches... unless you want to fire

Thanks for the camo cloaks that saves me 15 points Shrike's main purpose is to help with the veterans so fleeting can move 18+1d6 which is good enough for hitting something that doesn't want to get hit, they wouldn't do shooting anyways, with the no guns and all. Competitive I do not really think so, but I do not think it would get rolled either

Use the 15 points to put extra armor on that LRC. Getting stuned will ruin your day even with fleet
|

I would drop out the lascannons for free missiles on your tacs. Get a multi melta on your LRC. All in all without rhinos or razors I can't see you holding any objectives effectively and 5 marines in a unit won't last long. Anything outflanking you ie stealers will have an easy time.

Well, I actually have a lot more points then I thought, seems the tactical troops are only 180 points with LC.
I think I can afford the extra armor and the MM on LRC
If I notice they have outflankers that means ( usually ) they wont have enough to deal with SS/TH termies and VV's so a trade will be made, that is where tactics has to kick in.
I kinda like the LC for the AP2 soften up some 2+ers if I need to

Wait, are you taking 5 VV, with a thunder hammer and two
Lightning claws on the rest? That's a lot of points to dump on a unit with not so many wounds.
Against GK or DE you'll be hit at i5 and take some serious damage to your low wound count before anyone but shrike has a chance to retaliate.
Against any hordes the power weapon aspect is mostly unnecessary.
Against meq you'll probably thrash through them in one turn of combat and be chewed up by fire in the next round.
For 100 points less you could take a ten man squad of regular assault marines, with a thunder hammer and melta bombs or storm shield and melta bombs. It may not be as flashy as all those lightning claws but its a hell of a lot more durable.
Footslogging combat squads proved incredibly hard for me to keep alive against anything. Switching from veterans frees up enough points to buy them rhinos or rb's. Personally i like that there is only one transport in the whole list, so I'd try to use the extra points on something to distract fire from your scoring units, like bikes or a TFC.

Ok OK, Dropping the Vets Shrike 195 10x tact Melta Melta bomb 180 10x tact ML Flamer 175 5x termies SS/TH LRC MM EA 475 5x termies SS/TH 200 LRC MM EA 275 How bout that? Infiltrating the melta melta bomb tact squad or the undedicated termies
