We were on a ridiculous deadline to knock this raffle army out. It took about 10 days and no sleep. We chose a basic antique metal and OSL effect for the army, along with some temple ruins for the bases.

This army I really like a lot. I know I was a bit down on your SW and Salamanders but I think your style of air brushing really lends itself well to this army. Great work, I can't wait to see it at WGC in a few weeks.

too airbrushed in my opinion, takes the soul out of the model you see when people takes lots of time layering and blending.

While I don't agree at all with the "soul" part, I have to agree that the ghost ark looks too "airbrushed". The infantry and other vehicles look great, but on the ghost ark, it is too apparent (sp?) some places. I think it is especially the blackening across the U-bars and some of the blackening on the back arch that detracts from the rest of a very nicely painted model.

Overall though, great looking army

This army looks great, I really like the airbrush work here. The bases with blue ruins are a nice touch! All in 10 days too, excellent job!

Those paintjobs are fascinating. They are clearly simple and even a beginner can pull them off with a modicum of skill, but they still look very impressive. While the transitions are a little abrupt on the Ghost Ark I think the overall effect is very nice and I especially like the bases.

I'm definitely stealing that style for the whips on my Wraiths.

Those are nice...really really wonderfully nice! Ya know, I can't make it Wargamescon but I REALLY have been wanting a necron army...you could always just give them to me

"The uniforms of the Imperial guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight. the principle is that what the enemy cannot see, he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine's armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear." -The codex Astartes

I like it. I get tired of all those armies that are to "paint brushed."
