Any chance of Wishlists on the site? I'd love to be able to categorise what I need for specific units and have it ready, rather than writing it down in a separate Word document.

Great idea, I'll look into it.

Brilliant, cheers!

Don't worry, I lose the battle of wills with myself at least once every month or so too when it comes to starting new armies or warbands.

Hmm, Broolian heads are gone...

Just 3 shy of enough goggles heads to finish a 2nd Scions unit. :(

Are there any horses recommended for Vic Mini models? I've been looking at Warlords Games' horses, which happen to be on sale.

They'll be rarer than rocking horse poo soon but I believe Vic's riders were designed to go with GW's Empire Pistolier horses. Those are the ones I've used with mine and they look the business.

No but they're now webstore only, so parted out kits? Yeah, right.

I did some digging, and found this image of Rough Riders with Perry Horses (Warlord Games) - it looks good. Gonna order myself 20 of those, to be ready for the arrival of the Southern Belles of Doom Rough Riders.

No, it's just because they're so dear. And old.

Meh, that scale kitbash is kind of off to be honest. The parts and knife work are great, but those parts are heroic 32 sitting on truescale 28, it just looks kind of like adult torsos sitting atop those kiddy horse ride for a quarter machines that used to be outside the super market.

I bought a bunch of Rough Rider kits from Victoria and have still not finished them because every set of horses I buy to finish them out looks like ponies under Heroic Scale bulk :(

I agree, that scale is way too off to be used for those horses. Vic's stuff is slimmer, but it'll still look way too big on those horses. They MIGHT work for women, but I doubt it.

I would look at companies known for heroic proportions. Perhaps Warlord has a kit that would work better?

I ended up using motorcycles for my guys. Mad Robot makes some nice ones in this scale with the right legs, I then ordered the hunting Lance's from Vic and am going to combine the too to make my rough riders.

I think it fits well enough - the horses are maybe slightly on the short size, but horses do vary. I think the worst offender is the CSM power sword - that looks wrong.

Ordered 20 for 20£ from Warlord Games now. I think they'll work better with Victoria minis anyway.

From Facebook:

Greetings.

I've finished the Beastmen squad. The parts are currently at the caster and should be in store in about 3 weeks. These are a long time favorite of mine, so I am very excited about finally getting a full 10 man resin squad.

Might start calling them Beast Guard?

I am currently working on a ten man squad with close combat weapons and pistols. So watch out for the future return of Torgo's Trench Raiders.

Cheers, V

Quick question on the BFG and its optional bits - how easy is it to make the howitzer barrel and the mortar barrel swappable?

I will be using the model in steampunk and post-Apocalyptic roleplaying games, so I won't typically need more than one or the other on the table at a time.

(The PA scenario I have in mind for the BFG is titled The Guns of Splash Mountain... think The Guns of the Navarone, but with more Disney*....)

The Auld Grump

* Including the cryogenically preserved Uncle Walt....
