Hi,
you may have seen Ruben Torregrosas "Ratte" already (https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/52qtqboaZdTKOudLuZiLwtMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite), time to show my humble approach...

The Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte (lit.: Land Cruiser P. 1000 "Rat") was a design for a huge tank for use by Nazi Germany during World War II. It was designed in 1942 by Krupp with the approval of Adolf Hitler, but the project was cancelled by Albert Speer in early 1943 and no tank was ever completed.

Forged in Battle produce a 1/100 (15 mm) scale Ratte and made a pre sale of this HUGE model, I was fortunate enough to receive one.

The model comes with different support turrets, I liked the Early/ Mid war look and went for the Flak-Vierlings on the engine deck!
I also wanted a more naval look for my Ratte, therefore the plain grey colour choice.

Looks good! Like the scheme on it.

Was it an LE model or are they still available?

Seems that Nazi Germany tried to produce the first Baneblades? In serious though, it's a lovely model, but why was the project cancelled in the first place?

1943 Germany was losing more than winning - they weren't producing enough tanks as it was, let alone have the resources to dedicate to this monstrous thing.

Awesome model though :-)

Baneblade?
N not even close! The ratte would easily dwarf a petty Banblade...

I can hear the Fuel Depots crying

Awesome model. Simply awesome

Still it is bit odd they call it the Ratte, instead of some cat name or something

It's because the other Nazi huge tank was the "Maus"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_VIII_Maus

Those wacky Nazis and their naming convention jokes.

OT: Looks very very nice, even though the sides of the tank are very plain, you've managed to put a lot of detail into them. Good job.

Interesting name. 'Armored battle car: 'mouse' and 'rat.' Sounds like a 1990's Japanese mecha TV show.
