Seems FW has overcome their reluctance to do Horus Heresy and Aeronautica Imperialis books. Harry confirmed both of them coming, actually 3 HH and one AI book:
Harry wrote:Well if you and thedarkgeneral are right there is a lot of interesting stuff in the months ahead for 40K with what's coming from Forge World in the not to distant.

SunTzu wrote:Horus Heresy book, first in a series, based around Isstvan III. To be announced at Games Day (...though not sure whether that's UK or USA).
...I mean, I guess.

Harry wrote:LOL SunTzu .... consistently 'in the know' about all things Forge World.

SunTzu wrote:Hahaha. I don't claim to be consistently 'in the know' about anything. But every now and then - not often - I hear something. Sometimes it's even right!

Personally, I've never owned a Space Marine army, but you can bet for sure I'll be getting one if they do Heresy stuff.

dean wrote:A little birdy in the FW production line has said that they had a meeting and that there would be 2-3 waves of (big exciting things) that would happen towards the end of the year in spite of the Hobbit release. Of course they didnt tell the workers what they were...

Sum total of rumor: "Several exciting things coming from FW before the end of the year." Which matches Harry's vagueness... Also no more than could have been guessed anyway...

Harry wrote:'Vagueness'??? I was asked for a cryptic clue for crying out loud!
I can be more specific ....
There are three Heresy books coming .... the first one later this year.
...and yes you are quite right there are some big and exciting things coming with them.

There is another AI book coming before this lot however.

News that is both awesome and completely NOT surprising.

After the success of the FW "Heresy" marks of armor and the continued success of the BL HH series, it was only a matter of time!

Can't wait for this, and I cannot wait for a TRUE set of Pre-Heresy/Heresy Era Terminator armor!

Very interesting, this could mean lots of new Chaos minis along side a new codex.

Pass! I'll probably buy the books, simply because the FW books are always worth it in my mind, but the models?
Pass!

Unless we get some Imperial Army troopers or neat Dark Angels characters over the course of the 3 books, of course...

Good point!

Though I'm not so sure they'll be doing Primarch models.

They should though, as a lot of other companies have made versions over the years, and I'd love to get some 'official' ones too!

If we're going to get another Marien Vs. Marien book from forge world, I hope atleast the other side are some proper CSM mini's. Not another case of Loyalists Vs. Angry Loyalists.

Oh no... Please don't try and represent the Primarchs in-game and in-model.

Maybe FW includes a chapter of the Elysians first 3 defeats

If I had to hazard a guess, it's more likely that they won't represent the Primarchs in-game/in-model.

There's an easy way to do that, with the Primarchs taking a more "overarching commander of the war" approach and releasing characters for their various subordinates.

Please DO, actually!

This is the ONLY place where it would make sense for Primarchs to show up and fight - DURING the Horus Heresy!

Bring it on!

BRING IT ALL ON!

I always though that if official Primarchs would be released it would always be a FW venture. I can see it causing issues from a gameplay point of view, but for the models alone I'd love it. Even if they were like £25 a pop I'd happily get half a dozen of my favourites simply to paint up. If you're doing a range for the heresy it would seem like such a missed opportunity to not release models for all the biggest characters of the story.

I think your estimate of £25 apiece is a little on the low side.

If, you know, they actually ever release them, of course.

There's quite a demand for Primarch models, there are enough alternatives on the market by other manufacturers simply for the reason that GW stubbornly refuse to do them. I've never really understood why not, even as a Limited Edition as they did with various BL characters.

Why now? A primarch can't possibly be more powerful than a daemon prince, avatar or c'tan.

Give them marine stats +1 (S5, T5 etc) and some special rules and bob's your uncle.

Alot of the descriptions of the HH state that the tratiors didn't actully start looking chaos untill later in the Heresy/Segie of Terra.

Early in the HH many of the legions very well may still look very much like they did pre-herasey.

I just hope that's not the approach they go, and instead give us some great new CSM models to play with. =P Not more "loyalist stuff".

Awesauce, it true then will be very excited. I personally very much like the FW books - the FW WHFB ones just blew me away (plus love that smell they have ).

I'm a +1 for the Primarch's, I really can't see a reason why they can't do them.

Too many models to paint - so little time

My game group and I played the Tempus Fugitives Age of Heresy campaign. It had the Primarchs in it and it was alot of fun playing them. If done right they will be awesome to play.
