So I want to make terminator-sized (or at least fit on terminator sized bases) mechanical daemons. Most likely of Khorne, since he has daemons like this.

Are there any model ranges that have Daemons like this (for not too pricey) or can anyone think of conversion ideas?

The models could also be Adeptus/Dark Mechanicus esque.

Thanks in advance for your help Dakka.

My preferred bits source:
http://www.thewarstore.com/cgi-thewarstore/sb/productsearch.cgi
Mostly aimed at SM, but I can see some conversion happening there. (Also search "Steampunk" for bits as well)

Ebay is another great source:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=28mm+mechanical+wings&_sacat=0
If you've got anything with wings, this will work wonders on "Mechanical."

Not sure about scale. Looks mostly for orcs, but again, depending on scale there could be many possibilities

I just found this wonderful looking bit source:
http://www.shapeways.com/
3D printing. Want 20 custom Should-pads? Just bookmarked a few pages myself for my Carcharadons Astra. I saw mechanical bits but they looked a tad crappy. Search around and see what you can get. Also unsure about scale and fit, and quality. Buy something cheap first, then go from there I guess

http://www.zealotminiatures.co.uk/#!__zealot-store/robotic-arms
Robotic Arms anyone?

NECRONS! Get necron bits, and daemon them up a bit. I've never worked with them myself, but you're a daemon player, you can think of something interesting

My only other guess would to keep working on your Google skills

Search terms like:
"28mm + bionic bits"
"28mm + mechanical bits"
"28mm + sci fi conversion bits"

etc.

Good luck

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

What specific look are you going for? Humanoid, or completely daemonic in inspiration? Something I like to see in such things is the baroque patterning such as seen in larger daemon constructs like the brass scorpion.

Why not get hold of a bunch of shields and things like that and make something akin to the necron tomb stalker?

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!

Doesn't need to be humanoid, probably something close to the Talos Pain Engine is what I envision:

But smaller and not as expensive. Not sure if it's possible. Was hoping maybe some miniature range had something similar, or a starting point for conversion. I think buying all the bits from different companies might end up being too pricey.

I have no idea how to begin to make a Tomb Stalker out of shields and things, don't think I'm that good lol.
