as mentioned in the other thread, this will be where we can nominate and decide who or what will fight it out in the next round of competetion. the next iteration WILL be using 6th, in all its glory, including allies, fliers, and their rules.

the nominations for the campaign are:

(keep in mind, once the campaign is done, we will nominate entrants that fit into the campaign type. IE: if "troops" are chosen, then we will nominate and enter in any codex troop choice and do pretty much what the SC battle did.)

keep in mind, all categories will require minimum codex unit size, and nothing that relies on an hq or other slot to "unlock" a unit to that slot.

- best non super heavy, 250pt or less flier. (FW is ok)
- best Troop squad, 200 pt or less, must have minimum squad size, from only its entry. no attached characters (so no warlocks, royal court etc)
- best elite unit, 250 pts or less, otherwise as troops
- best vehicle, non flier, non titan, 275 pts or less. (dedicated transports ok here, WITHOUT unit)
- best "do it all" unit - any non HQ, non vehicle, non flier unit. 300 pts or less
- a flip of the script - the "dead-ist" unit. worst unit, 200 pts,
otherwise same as "do it all".
- best titan class unit. (so garg creature, titan, or formation of these - so yes multiple stompas are ok) - 2500 pts or less. (no fliers or "normal units" here)
- best apocalypse unit. 1000 pts can include formations, and vehicles, but no fliers or titans/garg creatures.
- Best Fast attack, vehicles ok, but no armor values totalling more then 33. (add up side+front+rear - must be less then 33) - 200 pts or less.
- best non flier, non walker super heavy vehicle -800 pts or less.

ok so the "Dead-est unit" takes this one. that will be our next theme. thanks to all who voted, nominations will take place via replys in the main thread, or via PM to myself.

the format would be those nominated, under the restrictions of course would compete in a vote off to determine the winner. like the other one, it will be last member standing.

for example:

a 5 man space marine squad with a plasma gun, srg with power sword and plasma pistol fight a 10 man DE squad with a splinter cannon. wich wins?

it would assume a 24" x 24" battlefield with average terrain features, so say a hill, a forrest and maybe some walls or baricades.

while it is a vote off, hopefully the way people vote would be with a mind towards who would actually win in a fight with the above info.

there very well may be a point cap on units, etc so we dont get a 200pt squad fighting a 50pt squad.

hmmm ozomoto some intersting ideas however:

- psykers are kind of minimal in the game right now, and that tends towards IC - wich we have done 2 so far at this point.
- transports.... uh... not really that exciting imho
- i thought of fliers / FMC myself, and i dont think enough exist really atm.
- MC are again pretty limited. there is also a pretty big point gap, and some races dont have any. (tau, ig, sm, ork)
- xeno category is kind of a touch specific. with the amount of marine/iom love out there, not to mention chaos, people might feel left out. i would like to have representives from all codex if possible. xenos removes all SM, IG, SOB and chaos. (plus possibly chaos daemons) leaving us with only eldar, DE, tau ork and nids. what about type of character? troops slots? heavies? vehicles?
- what do you mean by man? and again, thats kind of army specfic, like the xenos. it has the same questions.
- 50 pts does not buy alot. many armies cant even afford minimal squad size for 50 pts. also, whats aloud? troops only? elites? etc... need to be a touch more specific.

not jumping on ya, i apreciate the nominations. i just think the points above kind of spoil the party for ya, sorry. maybe some more info or tweaked versions of those will work?

what do you mean by entourage? like only units that can be taken as a retinue or bodygaurd? as far as i know, only tau, dark eldar, eldar, gaurd (maybe?) and tyranids can take one. although correct me if im wrong. (however we could also lump those in to the elite bracket)

tank is a nice idea..would have to define, (are only "tanks" allowed, or any vehicle? how many points?)

apoc unit would be interesting... again, it would have to be defined pretty strictly, like infantry formations, vehicle formations, titans? fliers? points limit?

great ideas - we just gotta get em defined properly. i would like to keep the entrants as close as *possible* to prevent a clear walk off winner. debate should reign high, and anyone should have at least a chance of winning.

(Necrons and SM can take them too AFAIK)

By tanks, I mean vehicles that are designated as "Tanks" in their respective codex or whatnot.

and do a worst warrior / "dead-ist" Warrior. The worst single model. The battles are fought the same but you vote on who would lose.

If that doesn't work, then I like the best Flyer/FMC

flipping the script is kind of neat.... kind of "warhammers worst warrior" deal. that could be...interesting.

retinues and bodygaurds are a bit... limiting i think. now, correct me if im wrong but: the only ones available are: SM honor gaurd, tau crisis team/drones, tyranid tyrant gaurd, dark eldar courts, eldar seer council, necron royal court, and maybe the veterns from the IG command platoons? (although they are purchased as a single unit, and not really bodygaurds...)

kind of limiting.

i like the tank idea. so any "tank" class vehicle of x points or less. it means DE wont have anyone in the game, and necrons are also out, unless we just say "armored, non flier" of x points or less.

apocalypse could be fun, it just needs to be defined a bit. like, "non vehicle non flier non titan class unit" of x points or less, or "titan class vehicle of x points"...and so on

Deadliest Flyer should be seperated from the regular vehicles. Too much of an advantage to the Flyer.

For example the LRBT is certaintly a deadly package, but its main gun is useless against Flyers because it's a blast weapon. Meanwhile a Vendetta/Stormraven/Void Raven/whatever will just fly circles around it till it dies.

agreed, hense the "non flier" caveat i added. fliers should be there own beast... but since apoc fliers have now been ammended to use 6th rules....

we could say "non super heavy" fliers of x points or less. and anything from 6th or FW is valid.

Best HQ retinue? Got to be Farsight's 7 crisis suit bodyguards with 14 shield drones. All have missile pods, 4 with plasma rifles, 3 with fusion blasters, all with hard wired multi trackers and all with targeting arrays. Within rapidfire range that's 14 s7 ap4 shots, 8 s6 ap2 shots and 3 s8 ap1 shots, hitting on 3s.

And if it hasn't already been done:
- Best jack of all trades (Essentially the unit which can most efficiently change its role for any situation. Be it tank hunting anti-infantry, scoring, denial, ect)

Best troops, I nominate a 5-man Grey Knight Terminator squad with Brotherhood Banner, Anval Thawn upgrade, Warding Stave and two hammers. Or any other combination of upgrades that may be optimal. The point is nominating GKTs.
