Ok, I have looked at the Deploy Forces and Mission Descriptions rules from pages 81 to 83 in the BGB and the description of Infiltration on pages 75 and 84 in the BGB.

Here's the question:  If you have multiple infiltrating units from different parts of the FOC, should they be deployed with infiltration in the same order as listed in the scenario for regular deployment.  In other words, if your entire army infiltrates, after your opponent has deployed his forces, do you have to deploy your infiltrators in the Heavy/Troops/Elite/HQ/FA order?

The Deploy Forces section doesn't address this.

Each Scenario under Set-up bullet point 2 states that "Units are deployed in the following order: Heavy Support, Troops, Elites, HQ, Fast Attack." (Scenario Listings, BGB, pp. 81-83.)

In the USR section on page 75, the BGB states, "To represent this, units with the Infiltrate ability may set up in accordance with the Infiltrate special runle (see page 84) in any mission that uses the special rule."

The Mission Special Rules section on page 84 of the BGB states, "Any infiltratros deployed on the table at the start of the game are deployed after all other units.  If both sides have infiltrators, toss a coin to determine who goes first and alternate deploying these units."  The rest of the section just delineates how close to enemy units the infiltrators may be placed.

So, what's the concensus?  Could you deploy in any order you want, or are you still constrained to the "normal" order of placing?  I can see this being very important if both players have multiple infiltrating units to try to protect more vulnerable infiltrating HS squads by placing more expendable Troops squads as push back units before placing the HS squad.

Frankly, I don't see where there's any room for controversy on this point. The quoted rules are surprisingly lucid. If both parties have Infiltrators, you *could* discuss deployment as a matter of courtesy. My ruling would be - "Deploy Infiltrators in the manner that is most fun for all!" Playa

Infiltrators are deployed in whatever order you wish.

Appearenly no. I don't make people set them down in any order.

I know the rules. Do you?

This came up for me quite a lot.  Since my whole army infiltrates, and usually only my Heavy Support choice hunter kindred has an auspex, my opponents usually want me to place them FIRST if they have their own infiltrators so that they can stay away from the auspex unit.  I fixed this by putting an auspex in every unit (only 2 points per unit).  Now, if my opponent has any infiltrators, they usually get shot at by half my army before the game even begins!  (Under the assumption that infiltrating units with auspexes can deploy after enemy infiltrators and then shoot at them, which the rules seem to agree with)

You have to roll a 19 with auspexs on 4 dice. Not easy.

Kroot can usually set-up D6" closer before the game begins, so that takes the average down to 15.5" on 4D6.  Add in that trackers get a free 6" move before the game begins and each model comes equipped with an auspex (a unit of 10 models gets 10 chances to roll, and for each successful one gets a volley of 10 sniper rifle shots, a possible 100 shots before the game from a single unit!), and it happens quite frequently for me.

Trackers can assault a basilisk at the back of a deployment zone on the first turn with a chainfist.  Too bad the rest of the squad comes equipped with sniper rifles.
