My counter assault/assault unit. The Sang guard with a priest are technically 2+5++, the reclusiarch while ap4 is hitting at str6, str7 on the charge.
Honour Guard (225)
+1 Sanguinary Noviate; 4× plasma gun; 4× bolt pistol; jump packs.
Hope to keep them at max range doing their 4 Str7 ap2 shots, may glance something to death.
Techmarine (60)
combi-melta; jump pack.
Steve the suicide tech marine, I personally love this guys and there are enough ruins in the area that my devestators and scouts love him too... sometimes he deepstrikes and kills a Russ... sometimes he lands in a rock and explodes...

Pretty Standard BA fare here, they can be somewhat of a larger liability in 6th... but still good for there cost.

I love what 6th did for my bikes, they take some familiarity to use but nothing has greater threat radius to tanks for the cost then attack bikes... also useful for harassing MCs etc.

My rock, they hoe up somewhere comfy and lay down my ranged fire. The ML in the scouts and PC in the two devy squads are personal preferences.... essentially whatever a ML is firing at a PC is a good follow up (same for snipes and ML). Corbulo.... corbulo the 3+2++ tank, park him in the front. Mathhammer shows something like 32 Plasma shots or 120 lasgun shots to take this man down... worth the investment for a nanny at home.

This list can use some tweaking, specifically in the counter assault and troop area. RAS troops themselves are not very good in CC in 6th with the rise of elite units, so what is the most cost effective choice when I am running no land raiders? Also DC with bolters, useful or better off just getting another RAS for redundancy? I could replace Steve the suicide tech marine for a agies defence thingy with a gun...

They are, but tech marine, SG, priests take up elite slots. Another idea I had had stern/tycho/priest in place of SG/resc/priest. Automatically Appended Next Post: I am split which would preform with the surroundin elements.

Scouts and Assault are both scoring so I technically got two... will likely drop the DC for another RAS putting me to three.

I personally prefer Baal preds over attack bikes however that's all personal preference, and Rec's are solid in close combat, however they wont stand long against other HQ's who are more designed for close combat, for example my BT Marshall easily beat out a Rec without difficulty however he previously manged to kill some initiates. And I love Corbulo, hes unstoppable, i've had him take on lighting claw termies and win, and then get shot up of a whole squad of sternguard with combi plasma's and not lose a wound. The Dev set up is very good however i am not a fan of the tech marine he would be better with a servo harness and every game I played with DC so far they took out triple their points value.
