I'm friends with 2 of the winners. Sam Lenz, winner of 40k Monster (Hive Tyrant) and Tom Ales, winner of 40k Vehicle (Ork Dakkajet). We meet weekly to paint and build minis, so I got to see these projects come together. Awesome knowing 2 winners from same town.
Sam rode down to Games Day with me.

Seriously though I am shocked that every year it is harder and harder to see demon pics the day of....it is my favorite part and pretty huge part of the event since they don't actually show much anymore! Somebody has to have a link to a gallery somewhere! GW will put some up shortly I'm sure but they are always so low res...

A bunch of those guys are friends and in the same.painting group. Some categories were just disappointing this year and you wonder the judges choice others like duel only had four entries. The 40k single.fantasy single and even lord of the rings were tough comp. Others like duel were just weak.

At first I was thinking the Dwarf's paint job wasn't anything spectacular, until I saw the White Dwarf. That is insane, and I commend the high-functioning autistic with the world's steadiest hands for creating that.

Do you have access to any WIP images of the entries? Would be cool to see.
