Hmm. Would the Slaves to Darkness Collection Box make a good deal? You do get the Magister and a good amount of Chaos Knights.

That's not the Magister in the SC box. It's the Chaos Sorceror Lord.

Even better, the Magister is kinda hideous, in my opinion. I only got him initially to steal his staff for my Sorcerer Lord on Disc conversion (which I built using the Sorcerer Lord as a base), and intended to make the (now) Magister a Herald, but part of him went missing shortly after.

I love the Magister mini!

I got a side project where I'm going to make all 9 Gaunt Summoners and his upper body sans head will be the basis of 2 conversions.

One of my favorite rules in matched play is "You cannot have more than 9 Gaunt Summoners in your army." Its meaningless in a rules context but a humorous nod to the fluff.

On a separate note, I wonder if msu Tzaangor spam will become a thing due to their banner. 6 wizards would mean an average of 3 mortal wounds per tzaangor unit per turn, on top of whatever the wizards are actually throwing out themselves.

Yeah, I painted up one of my Silver Tower GS's and I don't want to make the one from my second box exactly the same, so the hobby monkey jumped on my back and gave me the idea to do all 9 as individual conversions. Like one on a Manticore, a burning chariot, a different disc, use different robes for the lower half. Rules-wise they wouldn't be Gaunt Summoners, but it would make them all unique.

Honestly, I'll probably tap out after my 3rd conversion, and this project will join all of my other ambitious but aborted conversion projects.

I'm hoping GW will eventually give us a few more Gaunt Summoner models and maybe even a few more warscrolls with different unique spells.

I want to see a Disciples of Tzeentch army with Archaon. He's got the Tzeentch keyword, and if you get two 6s on the Fate dice, he can use them to just instagib any target you feel like once per game. Or even one, provided you roll a 6 on any of his other swings.

In any case, I strangely have 2 of him, so that's fine.

Absolutely - at least one more (perhaps one of the specifically named/described ones revealed in the books), along with stats for use in Silver Tower would be ideal! Still hoping we see rules for the original disc rider in next month's White Dwarf.

Tzeentch rewards patience. Let the angry Tzaangors go first, then the glorious daemons get their turn.

I am planning on using him as a magister myself really like the model he has a staff and sword per the war scroll about the same height as well. Honestly this tzeentch release is making choices hard because you can run everything tzeentch in your army. I decided to go with a mix of the new stuff, daemons and slaves to darkness.

I'm going to do just the opposite and stick primarily with tzaangors, along with a few daemons at higher points levels.

I must say, this is turning out to be quite the release: the models displayed on GW's website are nothing short of spectacular.

That's incredibly stupid of GW of having a 40k and AOS box of Tzaangors. Bloating up the SKU for no reason.

Models are great, Don't really like the Tzaangors being on disk, but when you put them on feet, they look ace.

Why? Looking at them on the NZ site the AoS box is cheaper because it doesn't have the upgrade sprue.

I mean I'm not gonna complain, and considering this is the sort of thing people keep asking for I don't see how it isn't positive at least for us?

They're barely cheaper... and that's not taking into accouny just how overpriced the 40k Tzaangors are in the first place, even for GW.

For customers, you're right that it's not a bad thing, and even a positive one since the AOS box is a bit cheaper. Managerially speaking, it's a terrible decision since it makes the logistic needlessly more complicated, and force the retailers to lose shelf space.

There's a lot they could eliminate if they felt the logistics needed trimming. I'm happy they took the opportunity to give 40k players a new unit at just a few bucks more to account for the upgrade sprue.

Just got the digital battletome. £15 is a price I can get behind. The skies above chamon are mentioned again. I think the next part of the campaign is going to be set there. The grot scuttlings are mentioned as a seperate faction. I expect they will get released soon.

What? They're a couple of quid more expensive than a Tactical Squad. If you want to talk overpriced, look at the Witch Aelves or the Vulkite Berzerkers.

*Looks up Berzerkers*

Holy feth. Did not realise how expensive those buggers are. Fething insanity.

I still stand by saying the 40k Tzaangors are way too expensive, but man those units do put an entirely different perspective on things.

Tzaangors are overall a pretty great value box if you intend to use them for both game systems. Build them with two hand weapons or the two-handed glaives and they will still be 40K legal (all of them have holstered weapons so even the ones with two-handed weapons would still be modeled with two close combat weapons). They are undeniably better value in Age of Sigmar specifically though where they are a 180 point unit as opposed to a 70 point fodder choice. $70 AUD for ten Tzaangors works for me given how nice all the parts look.

Actually, I should probably mention that GW mostly hit it out of the park with pricing for the Tzeentch release. $60 for three large Tzaangors riding Disks of Tzeentch is phenomenal when you compare them to much smaller Tomb Blades, Prosecutors and even disk-mounted characters like the first Gaunt Summoner model. That box will be a huge hit with both Thousand Sons and Tzeentch Daemon players. The Tzaangors as mentioned are pretty good, 20 Kairic Acolytes for $84 is great given how many points and options the box gives you, the Silver Tower Gaunt Summoner is cheaper than your average plastic character nowadays, the Shaman doesn't break the bank too badly, etc. The only one I take issue with is the Ogroid but given his size it's not too bad I guess. I'm very interested in seeing the new Tzeentch Daemon prices though...if the Lord of Change kit is $200 or less given it's size and option to build Fateweaver that would be good. I wonder what the Brimstones and Blues will be like given that they apparently come in the same kit?

Not gonna complain about the price, 3 skyfire Tzaangor for $35 USD, but im kinda confused why the single fig shaman is the same $35.. Seems like a clear price because you need one to buff the other stuff...

Because you will buy fewer Shamans, they are more expensive. This has been GW's pricing model for decades.

Still doesn't make it right. They all look the same to me and I can't tell the difference. What a way for someone who doesn't know, looks at the minis, thinks wow beautiful want to start and then see one mini priced the same as 3 minis and looks the same and then loose interest so fast. Talk about Impulse buying and then Impulse Turn Off.
