As per the new rules you can assault multiple units at once now. Nothing is stopping one from declaring assault on say 4 units at once, correct? As long as you follow the rules.
1 - Declare all units attempted to be assaulted and resolve all overwatch these squads can, if any.
2 - Role 2d6 or 3d6 for difficult. (Lets assume all are reachable with the proposed distance roll.)
3 - Must engage primary target, the one targeted by the unit in the shooting phase
4 - Follow the assault move rules. Engage as many unengaged models as possible, if not -> Engage at least 2" from a model in B2B, if not -> Unit Coherency

Now in step #4 you are allowed to break coherency if you can engage unengaged models in one of the 4 units assault has been declared against, correct? Coherency of the unit is manditory to maintain once out of combat and end of the movement phase. Someone tried to get me to not assault a unit because it would leave him out of coherency, even after I engaged the shot unit and followed the steps in #4

Can I get some insight plox?

I need to return some video tapes.

You could assault more than one unit in 5th edition as well.

You must end up in coherency at the end of each models assault move, barrin the first model. So to assault multiple units you will need to carefully bridge accross

In my step 4, the assault rules don't tell me to be coherent, unless I can't get B2B with an enemy, or within 2" of a B2B engaged model, then I must try to be coherent.
Am I just brain farting some rule I may of have missed from memory?

It says what i said it does - you have to move into coherency with models that have already moved.

QFT. The rules for moving initial chargers force you to move the first model into B2B. Then you move the second model. He must attempt to reach B2B while remaining coherent with the first model moved. All assaulting models must end their assault move in coherency with at least one other model from their unit.
