Im not really sure what thread to be asking this in but here goes anyway. I was told today that the razorback kit can easily be used as a rhino. They said it was essentially a rhino with more bits because of the weapon options on a razorback. Is this true?

Yes. The same is true of any kit based on a Rhino chassis.

The rhino kit is a waste of money. Razorbacks have an extra sprue with the weapons. Assemble rhino as normal, using the top cover with a hole in it, then you can field it as either vehicle

I just wouldn't glue on the top-cover. It comes with both, so you can either put on the hatch with the gun, or the Rhino hatch, and it looks just like you shelled out the money for either.

In fact, the Razorback sprue can be used to assemble a Rhino. But the RB sprue comes with extra parts.

You could use the Razorback as a Rhino via some modelling.

It's a common trend for GW - Raider/Ravager, Wave Serpent/Falcon, Hammerhead/That other Tau tank.

They must realise how many people have wised up and are ignoring the Rhino kits... that, plus the recent GW kits are deliberately set up to create one of two vehicles off the sprue (Necron fliers, barges, Slaanesh chariots).
I foresee a dual Rhino/Razorback kit in future.

Immolator is the same price as a rhino and has a lot more. Even better than an razorback.

It's a shame the Immolator is missing the hunter-killed missile bit though, would make it the obvious choice.

It makes the whirlwind a reasonable choice.

The one exception is probably the blood angel battle force which is a reasonable to get a rhino all in all.

With the Razorback, you pay a few extra dollars to get a heavy weapon added to the Rhino.

The back panel is whats different.

The Rhino has doors, the Razorback has a panal with a circle that the gun sits in.

If you don't glue them, you can swap between them whenever you want.

Doesn't the RB kit come with both doors and the panel?

You can resell the razorback bits for more than the difference in price, easily.

Yes, all Rhino based vehicles have. A Rhino, plus 1-3 additional sprues with the vehicle specific bits on them.

This may have changed - or may be a UK/US thing - but last I checked, the Rhino and Razorback kits were exactly the same price. This is what made the choice a no-brainer.
One problem with getting an Immolator is that most if not all stores no longer have SoB stuff on the shelves.

In Australia they're exactly the same price.
Of course... That means they're both individually about twice the price of buying a Land Raider from a US mail order website. Considering our dollar is worth more than the US$ but we pay double the retail... no one really buys from GW Australia (well no one with any sense)

Of course, I think that has more to do with Aussie import taxes not GW purposfully doubling the price. I feel bad for you guys.

Can you guys get the orders off the GW website?
They use the same prices i see at my store, and add shipping, but you would still be able to get ahold of the figures.
