Hey all!,

This is where i will be posting pictures on my badab war mantis warriors army. i appreciate any all all feed back, this is my first seriously painted army and i look forward to improving my skills over time. so to get this thread started i have the picture profile of my first miniature done (without basing, due to being away from a paint store all summer i lack the color needed).

Here is a sternguard with a melta gun in maximus armor: (please note i lack proper lighting and camera till i get back to my permanent residence in the fall

Overall great job. I do think the metal of the melta needs some work. Try some sepia wash then a little brown wash over just the tip of the gun to produce some heat effects. What will you do for the bases? Did I say great job? GREAT JOB>

Thanks for the advice on the melta!, i have some weathering powder i plan on using on it to make it look like soot, and i will be using sepia wash on it when i get back to my permanent residence where my weathering powders are. as for the base it's hard to tell but they are made of green stuff and is all cracked up like a desert wasteland. i plan on using a light-ish dry brown to color them and the using delven mud wash to shade in the cracks. i'll post a picture of my sniper squad that i commissioned a close friend of mine to paint and show you the over all effect! keep checking back i'll have a variety of models posted!

Whoa those look great. The desert/mud cracks blend well with the yellow of the cloaks. The kit bash heads are a nice touch as well. Keep posting your work, the post/pics I find here in the showcase keep me inspired to paint. Great stuff!

will do i got many miniatures yet to complete so i'll keep posting when i finish a new one

really cool! i like the paint scheme and the bases do a lot to help contrast the colors used. MOAR PICS!!!! haha :]

this is my first try at the sigil of prophecy for the mantis warriors. i know it's a little bit modified because of the small scale of the sigil i modified the top flames a little bit

is that freehand? it looks really good! i like the idea of using the loincloth piece on the shoulder pads, great work here!

Yep its free hand using a 00 brush. i am really happy at how it turned out
