Karen Klein was the elderly bus monitor that got bullied by middle school kids for 10 minutes, while somebody recorded it and then uploaded it on YouTube.

The original topic even made it to our very own Off-Topic, but the thread got locked for good reason. So we should probably avoid talking about the incident itself or keep it very civil.

A small indiegogo campaign to raise some money to send her on a vacation was successful beyond belief and Karen is now using a portion of that money to start up an anti-bullying foundation:

No. The school should have called parents and have the parents beat hell outof the kids like mine would have done. In my day, the whole neighborhood would have taken turns with a belt on your keister for treatign that lady like that. Then of course we'd have to go off and fight Trex's for some coconuts, but that would just turn into a nice party.

I feel bad for you mate.. In the spirit of Karen's foundation, which she seeded with $100,000 of her money, I am now inspired to do good and fight the scourge of bullying.

PM me the addresses of any three of the peoples names who bullied you. Next time I'm over there in December I will personally go around to their houses and smash their kneecaps in with a hammer. Put a little star next to the worst offender and I will stamp on his face 4 or 5 times for good measure so I can bring you some teeth over and you can make a necklace with them.

I do this, in the name of combating bullying wherever it rears its ugly head!

I did that once. Both kids gave me a severe poking. Nowdays I can't get an 8lb wiener dog to obey me.

I mean really? If you are serious, that's one of the most petty, narcissistic and wrongheaded comments I've ever read.

Lady gets bullied horrendously. Acts with restraint and good manners. It gets posted online, goes viral. People demonstrate their goodwill by donating money so she can have a holiday. This show of goodwill generates more money than she could use to go on a holiday, so instead of keeping it or going on some sort of years long mega cruise, she starts a charity to fight bullying.

Dealt with it? I think she did deal with it, both at the time (and probably for months in the run up to this) and afterwards.

It takes a special sort of perspective to read something like this and straight away thing "But what about meeeee?"

Thats the problem, Parents have no time/want to parenting their child. The behavior of your child is not refelctant on your parenting anymore or they dont care.

Well that's because it's a crime to hand down a proper asswhupping these days.

Personally I have THANKED both my parents for kicking my ass when I deserved it. Thanked my SNCOs for kicking my ass when I needed it to.

Smacking your kids shouldn't be illegal. I got backhanded when I was a kid and I didn't go crying to the cops about it!
