I'm looking at getting into Eldar, and this is my first attempt at a mech Craftworld Eldar list. I'm worried that my troops might be a bit thin though.

Orkses is never beated in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don't count as beat. If we runs for it we don't die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see!

Well, the FA and HS units are awesome. But FW models/units are not accepted everywhere.
Your Farseer is overpriced, just give him roward and doom.

I'm not too worried about forge world not being accepted. I haven't played in tournaments in years, and most of the people I play with are chill about that sort of thing.

After toning down the Farseer though, I have 45 points now to spend, and am torn between 3 options. I could bump the Storm Guardians to 10 man DA squads with Bladestorm, drop a Warp Hunter for a Prism or Night Spinner to free 10 points and add an Embolden Warlock to the bikers, or I could exchange the Hornet's EMLs for Bright Lances (or, if I can find another 15 points somewhere could get 4 Pulse Lasers on the two Hornets). Any thoughts on the best route or another I overlooked?

Well, I'd replace one Storm Guardian unit by a bladestorming DA squad since DA's fill a different role on the battle field.

If you're putting your Farseer on a Jetbike I would definitely try to find points to give him the fortune power as it doubles their survivability and that unit will be a major target.

Hornets are pretty bad with AV11 and 2 HP. They were just barely playable in 5th but the HP on them hurt a lot.

Warp hunters are amazing anti-inf, but arent very good anti-veh because of the low RoF. Nightwings are insane, but you dont have a lot to pop vehicles early. Also, check Imperial Armour Aeronautica, it gave Nightwings Agile also, which means a 2+ cover save if they evade

In this army has pretty much nothing to doom or fortune. Warp hunter wounds on 2s, nightwings wound marines on 2s and will mostly be shooting vehicles. fire dragons wound everything on 2s.

storm guardians are gak. Worse now that last edition because focus fire and cover save reduction and they were bad last edition. i used to use 1 as a point filler that sat in reserves to poke off any over-extended vehicle, but they really weren't even good at that. Drop them at all costs. they are not worth throwing 200+ points as.

With this list, dont even bother going eldar. Run the corsair army list from IA11. 25 pt troop jetbikes get BS4, war walkers in the troop spot, BS4 guardians for 9 pts that can get 2x eml AND 2x melta at the same time and jump packs. Also they get the godlike corsair prince that can make a squad of fire dragons deepstrike, meaning you can drop the point cost for the transports to use on better stuff. Also, the corsairs can take venoms with shuri cannons. giving them a fast punch for smaller units. Finally, the psyker for the corsairs starts with 3 powers that they can exchange for 70 points and can get stones like the eldar farseer.

As long as we're talking Corsairs, I'll go ahead and post this list I made up for them. I've been thinking of going that route instead anyway. How's this look? I have 15 points left here to spend, which I'm thinking of putting onto the prince (who's going to be stuck in with a normal Corsair squad). I kept the Hornets, but dropped them to Scatter Lasers. Those plus the Wasps should give me a good amount of S6 shots to pop light tanks, while the EMLs on the Corsairs should at least take a few HPs away from heavier tanks.

The one thing that worries me though is the lack of Runes of Warding. Would it be worth it to drop something to pick up a farseer?

Best way to play corsairs is to ally with eldar. You get access to eldrad/yriel (why can corsairs not take the corsair prince?), war walkers, dire avengers that can deepstrike, the cheaper war walkers, and warp spiders. Also allows you to go harlequins w eldrad and the corsair prince with shadowfield as a deathstar unit that pretty much nothing can break (go eldar w corsair allies to get the 3 eldar elite slots).

Still think that hornets are way overcosted. They dont do anything that deepstriking war walkers or wasps dont do better. 16 shots at 170 points is too much.

I would recommend the fire dragons get an exarch with pike and crack shot to allow for easier placement. Also, bs5, rerolling wounds, and ignoring cover has proved clutch in so many games. Sniped a mek with KFF out of a unit with that. Plus my FD exarchs have the habit of obliterating terminators in H2H for some reason.

Throw flamers or meltas on the corsair squad. They get overwatch protection or much greater ability to take on varieties of threats. I think corsair squads are better than jetbikes because of that flexibility. Jetbike squads were always 3 man with cannon deals that harassed then boosted onto the objective the last turn

This is slightly off topic (since I don't know much about the rules for FW models) and don't have much to offer in that department, but could you post pics of your army? I'm really curious what some of these look like. I've been to the FW website often so I know what Warp Hunters and Corsairs look like, but I'd love to see how you converted a corsair jetbike, for example. I guess I'd just like to see a Corsair army for a change.

Unfortunately, I haven't started collecting them yet. I'm just looking to get a list nailed down first before I drop a lot of money on a new, Forge World heavy army.
