So hopefully this blog should include all the stuff that im doing for other people and also my own bits and bobs.
Currently painting up some dark eldar for someone.
And getting ready for my own sedition wars army.

Any who heres the first finished one from the dark eldar.

Love the dark red against the cream color and heck. It's a wip? Looks WAY better than my finished stuff.
And yes, rotate your pics please.

Couple more bits I've been working on a predator that was a speed paint 90mins on this one to table top standards and a nurgle champion based on a old realm of chaos adrian smith picture experimenting with new ways to do skin on this one.
Really wanted to give it a deasesed look rather than the standard gw green flesh tones they normaly do. So lots of blue and purple tones in it as well as painting the wounds up with a gangreen look instead of the fresh open sore look like normal. Also added skin tumors to the left side and a varicus vane look. Then went for the rusty metal effect on his armour and weapon.

Wip on the 2nd member of the nurgle warband. Each member is going to be based on a differnt aspect of disease so the first one was infection this one is growth so he has a hunch back and twisted spine. Next one is going to be atrophy. Then i might do a slug hound. ..

New member joining the fold. Lovely model a avatars of war herald of pestilance he's bigger than i thought (he's on a 40mm base ) basicly the same size as the old great unclean one. So looking forward to painting this one.
Also got some new paints to test out inc vallejo liquid gold that looks amazeing and some new greens for my sons of horus (saves me mixing the green out of 4 differnt shades )

So started on my new herald today. ..
[Thumb - 20120930_121252-1.jpg]
undrcoated gray then i blocked in the shadows for the skin tones.

[Thumb - 20120930_142359-1.jpg]
the skin tone is a mix of matt varnish and velljo iraqui sand used as a thick glaze.i then started building up the hilites to the skin and also useing wash

[Thumb - 20120930_142929-1.jpg]
at this stage the skin still looked a little plain so i spunged on some khemri brown and then some of the skin hilite color with white added on top of that to add texture (thanks jacob neilson ) and started inking in the wounds and infected areas.

[Thumb - 20120930_170516-1.jpg]
started on the details. i wanted the browns to be the same as the cover of the lost and the dammed.

[Thumb - 20120930_170507-1.jpg]
all thats left now is to add some clear nail varnish to the wound areas. ..

As part of my ongoing "bits box/refurbished" sons of horus army build i decided i mite have enough bits dug out to make a chaptain in TDA. Body is gs. Legs are from grey knights as is the sword arm. Power fist is from the masters of the chapter box (going to be crushing a emperors childrens helmet ) and head is from typhus. ...

Looks great, that Avatars of war model is far larger than I realized. (also you reminded me I need to pick up their new 4 armed slaaneshi style witch).

That Sons of Horus terminator looks great, did you scratchbuild the shoulders?

Sons of horus so far have another 10 marines coming to finnish of each sqd to the minimum size. And a rhino thats going to be converted to mk1 and maybe a land raider. After that i want to do some scouts in power armour with sniper rifles and some catalan reavers for my assault sqd

I thought I had commented on this already but the Adrian Smith Nurgle guy is just amazing, I love his grotesque face and the banner pole.

so as i sold my contemptor a few mths ago ive had a idea for a couple of dreads based on the old "eddy" style ones ,what do people think ?

Hmmm, not sure as I think the front of the mantic dwarf-mech will be difficult to alter.

The original dread's body was essentially a top heavy figure of 8 when viewed side on, I wonder if that could be redone with plastic pipe and plasticard?

Some awesome stuff here, that first Nurgle Champion in particular is really cool. Would you mind sharing how you did the green slime stuff that's oozing out of his wounds?

Kaiserjez the green oze is just clear gloss nail varnish with some of gw's new waywatcher glaze mixed it.

Mgs. Yeah i see what you mean i think i would need to raise and narrow the waist area abit. Looking at this pic it looks like it could work. The models only £9 so wont be much of a loss.
