The sink.

That looks pretty solid. If you want to add Fenris, you could drop the juggernaut or the doom reavers.

The winterguard deathstar is going to work well with any caster who has Iron Flesh on their spell list (i.e. pButcher, eSorscha, pIrusk, Old Witch).

Your list will probably work better with eSorscha because of the Iron Flesh, plus Desperate Pace for the winterguard, plus the affinity bonus from Beast 09. And Irusk is Khador's infantry caster. But I can certainly understand wanting to use the Butcher - he's just cool!

Oh, and I generally prefer epic Eiryss over the prime version, since the epic version can knock upkeep spells off of models.

I played the list today against Cryx and got my but handed to me. I'm fairly sure it was me rather than the list though....

I would drop the jugg for something else. Personally, I would drop the jugg and the rockets to get a max unit of IFPs and their UA. More models makes butcher's feat more effective. You really will not need/want both the heavy jacks. Butcher hits as hard as a jugg and the IFPs with fury hit as hard as zerkers and kodiaks, except you will have a max unit of them. By having the IFPs and the WGDS, you have a unit that will be effective against scattering AOE attacks (the IFPs) and a high DEF unit in the WGDS.

Fenris should probably only be taken with a large assortment of Doom reavers. He will most likely just get picked off early on at 35pts. Also - your opponent will always know that you cant effectively run beast AND the jugg. You would literally have to use up all of butcher's focus to run them effectively, which you will rarely ever do since he has those nice upkeep spells.

The WGDS will do well in this army. High def plus butcher's feat is amazingly effective with all those attacks. Engage enemies with the IFPs, stick them with iron flesh, then spray away with the WGDS under his feat.

Sounds like a good plan, now to saving money..... Of course I ordered a Conquest while at the store cuz I mean really who could actually resist owning that model...

Do you think Demolition corps would have a place in this army at all?

The sink.

A unit of man-o-wars can make a good LOS blocker for Butcher since he is on a medium base. Shocktroopers would be harder to kill b/c of shieldwall, but demo corp will move faster and hit harder in combat. Or you could get bombadiers for ranged support.

I think between having a destroyer or the rocketiers for ranged support I'd personally rather have another heavy hitting infantry unit.

God the thing I love most about this game is that its so not a 40k codex of "OK these 65% of my choices suck"

Oh, in that case you definitely want Demo Corp. They hit like a ton of bricks, especially with Fury on the unit.

Sweet! is it worth the 9 points for the full unit?

I'd say yes. You will probably lose a couple of them before they reach their target.

Since we established only Beast. I would maybe grab the Kayazy instead of the WGDS, they can get hella good DEF like the WGDS, but they can make better use of the Feat turn(harder hitting) as well Stealth is great against a good number of factions. IFP would be Awesome. instead of Demo Corps, grab some Great Bears, they face rape hard core. and i believe Fury hits them as well, i know Blood Lust does from p/eIrusk. and you get a really effective unit for less and better survivability then Demo. Faster moving to boot. Tough and Granted: Steady FTW?

Be Wary of the Errata to Back Swing they came out with recently. its no longer a Simultaneous attack. two separate attacks and your second attack MUST have a target(berserkish) meaning if you hit your own you hit your own. i changed my tactics due to this. depending on the targets i only Backswing with the first two bears and only single hit the 3rd bear.
