Et In Arcadia Ego
|
Hi there,
In this week’s newsletter we are continuing the flaming theme with the second of our Incarnate Elementals – that of Fire. We also have a reminder that there’s still time to place a reservation order for Games Day UK, and we are now accepting reservation orders for Games Day Italy as well.
Incarnate Elemental of Fire
The wind of Aqshy is one of the most destructive of the winds of magic; all consuming and insatiably hungry it is comprised purely of fire and blazing heat. The Incarnate Elemental that is born of it embodies this terrible wrath, known in the lore and legend of the Empire as the Charred One, Jack O’Cinders or the Black Harvestman.
Summoned within a colossal pyre, the Incarnate Elemental of Fire towers over the battlefield. Its lean and terrible form, cinder-black and ash-strewn, radiates phenomenal heat and is capable of unleashing a firestorm that none can withstand. Whispered tales still tell of the wrath of the Bright College who unleashed this unmerciful horror upon the towns and villages of rival factions during the fratricidal wars that wracked the Empire in ages past.
The Incarnate Elemental of Fire is a multi-part resin model designed by Steve Whitehead. This incredibly detailed miniature stands an impressive 6" (150 mm) tall, and makes a suitably imposing centrepiece for any Warhammer army. Rules for this magical creature can be found in Monstrous Arcanum, and it is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 28th September.
The Incarnate Elemental of Fire will also be on sale on the Forge World stand at Games Day UK on Sunday 23rd September in limited numbers.
Forge World Events News
Games Day UK
Sunday 23rd September is Games Day UK at the NEC in Birmingham, our biggest event of the year and we’ll be bringing you more information about our presence at this amazing event in the next two weeks. Our entire studio team will be in attendance along with lavish displays of both new and work-in-progress models and artwork, as well as several of our immense display tables.
We’ll also have a vast sales stand containing a massive selection of our range of resin kits, books and modelling supplies, including our Event Only models and maybe even a few cheeky pre-release kits in limited numbers.
We’re now taking reservation orders for Games Day UK, and a reservation order is the best way to ensure that we will have the exact products that you want, packed and waiting for you to collect. UK reservation orders are pre-paid to make the collection process quicker and easier, leaving you with more time to enjoy the rest of the event.
To place a reservation order for Games Day UK, just call the Forge World customer service team on 0115 900 4995 between 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday, or 9am - 5pm on Saturdays. We’ll need your name, a contact e-mail address and a full list of the items you wish to order, and you’ll need the card you wish to use for payment to hand as well. The cut-off date for Games Day UK reservations is Friday 14th September.
Games Day Italy and Games Day France
Sunday 14th October is Games Day Italy, held in Modena at the Forum Monzani, and Sunday 28th October is Games Day France, held in Montreuil at the Espace Paris. Forge World designer Simon Egan will be attending Games Day Italy, while Edgar Skomorowski and Stuart Williamson will be attending Games Day France alongside our intrepid sales teams.
We’ll be bringing you more news on our presence at both these events in the coming weeks, but for now we’re excited to announce that we’re now accepting reservation orders for Games Day Italy. To place a reservation order for Games Day Italy, just send an e-mail entitled ‘Games Day Italy Forge World reservation’ to customerservices.ita@gwplc.com. We will require your name, a list of the items you wish to order and a contact telephone number and e-mail address for you. In the week prior to the event we will then send you an e-mail to confirm your order number, details of any items we have been unable to reserve, and a total cost in Euros that is payable at the show.
Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal
For those of you champing at the bit to find out more about our forthcoming and hotly anticipated Horus Heresy book and models, fear not! From next week onwards we’ll be bringing you a veritable feast of information, so stay tuned to the newsletters and our YouTube channel…
Thanks,
Ead Brown

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Epic, indeed. Dang. Makes me all the more excited to see future elementals from them.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think. |

Not a fan it all, seems like there is far too much going on in the model itself and the head seems quite oversized. Perhaps if I saw it with a decent paintjob I would have a different opinion because then I could actually make sense of what is going on!

Hmm. Not keen, it might look better painted, but as it is it compares poorly with Maelstrom's Banebeasts.

I think this has real potential but yeah... not completely sold on it yet. Would definately need to see it with a good paintjob first before i cast my final verdict.
Also not to keen on the MASSIVE gap under and around the horn where the head joins the neck.

I think a painter could do wonders with it- I wish FW would paint their items before showing them off.
I'd be concerned about it arriving as pictured, though, as it looks quite fragile/fiddly/hard to cast well...

Personally, I really like it. I'd worry about the long-term viability of that weapon, though - looks somewhat fragile.

Wow...
I don't know what to make of this one.
I see possibilities, but it still looks like a miscast unpainted.
It doesn't remind me of a fire elemental, but rather the lean look reminds me of a Djinn or something like that.
Interesting idea, but unpainted it looks nondescript.

Poxy black and white pics, I cannot work out what's happening with the face at all and that is always the most important bit for me.
Rest of it looks nice. I think it would make a decent Daemon Prince of Tzeentch.

As others have said, FW really needs to get these things painted before unleashing them upon us...

Honest to god I that thing is just aweful looking. I was sooo disapointed in the Khaos Dwarves Centaurs and it seems they are keeping up with that trend. They did some solid minis at the start but it really seems like they only half these. I'm starting to grow disapointed with Warhammer Forge and that makes me a sad panda :(.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Screaming Shining Spear

I know this is a fantasy monster, but it's totally out of proportion - head too big, torso too small, legs far too long, and massive feet for short arms.
A sad, poorly thought out sculpt, and not representative of the illustration in the Monstrous Arcanum, which was actually rather exciting. I have not been impressed with the products coming out of Forgeworld lately - I'm quite prepared to spend stupid amounts of money on good products, but this isn't one of them.
