So in 7 weeks i am facing a friend who is a regualar tournament attende/winner. I have battled him before (twice) and lost both times (just) using my sisters of battle. This time i am using nurgle daemons and i want to beat him this time. So this is the list i was thinking of (i might be posting pics up aswell...):

My tactics is to use aura on gaunts to bump up tally so i can take on his trygon/tervigon/tyrannofex/doom of maltintai etc. I will also hide epidermis in a squad of PB.

Ideas?

First, remove points in your post for wargear options, that is against Dakkadakka's forum rules, just have the total for units.

I would suggest removing the icons. Those points could be spent beefing up your pbs and giving a noxious touch to each of the squads.
Alternatively, to be the most useful, flight on your prince would be a great way to spend the extra points you have leftover, plus the points frmo those icons. Flight is almost a must with 6th edition (it was good before, now it is amazing).

I don't think there is really any point giving noxious touch to any of the PBs since the tally will give them it anyway.

I was tempeted by flight but tzeentch is better with it (nurgle is mean't to be slow anyway). Its also a super expensive upgrade.

Nurgle is meant to be slow? Well that's not a good thing so if you can find a way to help make it a faster army why wouldn't you. I would also remove the icons.

The icons help stop everything dying off the board edge etc.

Lets say i do get rid of the icons, i still have 10 points to shed to fit wings in, what would i drop?

Split you Plaguebearers into 2 units of 7 and one of 14 and take away unholy might from the daemon prince he doesn't need it of head noxious touch and against vehicles your smash attack won't be effected by unholy might as strength can't go above 10. You will now also have another 70 points you can spend on nurglings as they benefit from the tally a lot with their many attacks.

Nurglings are as cheap as anything, and can not only be used to kill well (when the tally is up) but can form nurgling shields to stop people attacking things you don't want assaulted (PB on objectives, or daemon princes)

Totally worth it for 12 points each, to have a few

Smaller squads of PB get picked on and taken out eaiser.

Also the unholy might is good against all his monsterous creatures so i can 2+ reroll wound them, although i can see how that might not be worth it.

I could probably leave the noxious touch for the DP and get it later with the tally.

The gives me 60 spare points. Not sure about the nurglings though...

60 points=2 extra pbs for each of those 7-man squads

But 7 is fluffy (nurgle's sacred number). I could get 5 nurglings with 5 points over (which is ok).

Ugh. Aura of decay is near useless. Now you have 100 points.

The usual way to get the tally up is to take models with breath of chaos for the flamer template, but at this points level, its tough to get the tally up anyways.

But against nids (gaunts, etc) aura is good and can rack kills up easily.

It will be easy to rack up against nids anyway (i just need to get to 15 and i will be fine).

breath is better, and it works against Marines, and clauses glances to vehicles, which you'll need.

Plague hulks are terrible and worse then soul grinders (even though they are more expensive). Its poisened on 3+ (when im wounding on 2+ anyway, S10). It may have defensive grenades and assault gren but its weapons and the step brother equivalant of the soul grinder phlegm and vomit.

i do not have moey for a blight drone. I have epid, GUO, x30 PB, and will soon be able to get a pack of nurglings (and convert 3 into 6) and a nurlge daemon prince with wings.

Aura is better against nids because of the gaunts low T and armour. This isn't a tournement list, its a nid beating list.

I dont care how you spell it, i care about the list. Ive decided that i think how the list turned out is crap, and i am going to use the list i had originally, with a few minor adjustments (wings, etc). So goodbye i will not be using this thread anymore, any replies will not be looked at.
