Wow this looks great! I never really liked this tape measure before... It kind of looks like something you'd find in the kids section in the pound shop ($1 store), but your paint job has actually made it look very nice indeed!

Very nice, as stated, it looks so cheap and tacky in its standard guise. This looks so much better! Only thing is maybe make some painted rubber bungs to hide the screw holes?

Working for GW would be great. Too bad they dont take that into consideration HAHA.
I didnt think about adding filler to the screw ports. I was more focused on just painting it. If I paint another one for somebody i will few people actually own them or want them painted around here.

Good job there....as others have said, the original GW one looks cheap and tacky. If it shipped with that paintjob though, hellfire! Count me in for 3!

Pretty cool! I'd do it to mine, but I'd be too worried about the paint getting chipped/rubbed off with use.

I would buy one if it came looking this good XD, I really wish they came with a laser pen-like light, would have been good for checking LoS too xD but I can see the implications and reason's why they wouldn't given kids with such things can cause problems.

I put a coat of matte finish on it after I had painted it so the paint wont chip so easily. It is still a working tape measure. As far as the laser light a friend is working on it and I will paint it when it is complete.

I can also understand why GW didnt put one in there in the first place . Giving a kid one would not turn out well and secondly the cost of the item would be well above what anyone would reasonably pay for.

Looks awesome, Ya know GW sold little Laser-pointers , and yes dumb children pointed them at each other.

I would love to buy one, but the cost for something that good looking would put it out of my price range.
