Hello. You may remember me from my recently censored threads about dreads and glue that was blue. I'm back to start anew with my new brew of goo.
Hollow Tyranids coming at you.
65% composed of GW. (after grinding, please no hate- 100% pre cook weight.)
[Thumb - IMG_1075.JPG]
Group shot of all the laid out parts that needed carving out.

[Thumb - IMG_1074.JPG]
Closeup of gutted inner torso- much more room to stretch out.

[Thumb - IMG_1072.JPG]
Lit up from underneath with a flashlight. Coming soon: internal green LED shots.

[Thumb - IMG_1071.JPG]
Even the small vents. I want green light/ dry ice smoke over the whole shebang.

[Thumb - IMG_1078.JPG]
Dry Ice? Wont that freeze off the superglue? That's what the rubber is for. also cushions a fall and makes the model "breakproof".

[Thumb - IMG_1077.JPG]
Still hollow after coating all electrics and blood flow pipes, plenty of room for the dry ice.

[Thumb - IMG_1079.JPG]
Making some sloppy gaskets to connect the WD-40 tube connecting through the tail.

[Thumb - IMG_1080.JPG]
Quick paintjob after many more hours of work. Just realized not all of the blood is washed off in this pic.

What the heck is this? I don't get it.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

It's a hive tyrant that I took a dremel and a razor blade to in order to make a hollow model.

This model can be filled with whatever you want. Fake blood, dry ice, LEDs, cream cheese, you name it.

Mine is going to have green leds lighting up the dry ice smoke, and realistic blood that pumps out of its head and vents.

It's a lot harder to do in plastic than it is to do in hot glue, but I think I did all right.

I can't imagine why you'd need this, and I say this as a dude who puts LEDs in fething everything.

I liked your first thread on bleeding models and I like this one too Though personally I wouldn't waste the money on bleeding official GW models, they cost too damned much.

I have considered hollowing out space marines for glowing eyes or necrons for glowing gauss (though admittedly for the necrons I was more planning on just running external wires and trying to make them look like part of the model rather than hollowing since the limbs are so flimsy as it is ).

Hollow limbs ARE flimsy, sure. But mine are backed with latex to keep the dry ice from freezing the superglue and making the bond brittle. Just a really really thin layer, actually hand blown through the part (that's love).

If it drops, and all the superglue bonds break at once, parts would go flying everywhere. Not so with a latex backing, which holds everything together. I think I could actually blow it up like a balloon if I hadn't also used superglue.

I don't understand peoples' problem with this. The model looks exactly the same on the outside, does additional cool things, and hurts them zero.

The intent isn't to have a bright column of light coming out of the vents. The CO2 mist from the dry ice /blood effects are the main attraction.

But even a small amount of light reflecting out of the vents will light up the mist as it comes pouring out. I'll be sure to make a video when I'm done, but I've been taking a lot of WIP shots.

I'm not sure If I was clear before, but The intent is to bore through the midsection and tail with a drill. This hole will connect through the hole in a chunk of basing material, all the way down through the base.

This will allow me to thread that red WD-40 hose through everything, connecting the base to the chest. This means I can take a much larger volume of liquid below, and have it just bleed eternally OR connect it to a large tub of dry ice, so it can smoke for much longer.

Hopefully this pic will help give an idea of how it is all wired up.
The tubing goes up from the base, through the rock, into the crotch of the tyrant, up through the waist and into the main body.
The main body is hollowed out and houses 3 small batteries, 2 green LEDs, and enough space for 2 grams of crushed dry ice.

If I decide to put more dry ice under the base, the tube will supply this up into the body.
If I decide to make it bleed, the blood liquid goes up this same yube, fills the body, and then comes out the vents.
If I put blood through the pump into a body filled with dry ice, bubbly blood. Neat.

Hmm. I'll fix that later tonight
