Hey everyone, here is a converted predator we just did for a client. We worked very closely with the client in choosing bits, and design of the conversion of the Pred. Along with how he wanted every detail of it painted. Brian our ork conversion specialist pinned all the weapons and anything that could pop on and off, or be switched out. I did the painting. He chose to go with more red as a base color and use the Death Skulls blue as the accent color.





Also thought I'd post some pics of a 2 Dakkajets I speed painted in 3 hrs for a friend of mine for his MWG battle report. He put me on the spot just a few hours before he had to make his journey to Canada to play.....I didn't have enough time to finish but hopefully he will send them back to me to bring them to the end.

@Galeprime: I just went with it, I had never done freehand flames before but somehow these things just came off my brush without thinking about it. I was really happy with how they were coming along .

The looted predator is sweet but the flames on the Dakka jet are wickly awesome. Great job.

I'd love to see some of your other work if that's what came off your brush when you weren't putting much thought into it!!!!!

So the client was so happy with how the pred came out he commissioned us to magnetize and paint up a dakkajet for him to match. In pre pro the client chose which sections he wanted red and what to be blue, he wanted checkers and the free hand mouth. I added some horns to the glyph to make sure it stayed true to da deff skullz glyphs from the looted pred. The rest was on the fly. Hope he likes it! Also Aaron initially magnetized all the weapons underneath so that this can be all 3 versions of the flyer and all the gun barrels can also come on and off.

@Galeprime: Thanks I appreciate it ^.^ sometimes my autopilot just works well haha. If i ever get time I hope to come up with some awesome stuff for my new Dark Eldar army!

It looks a bit cartoony to me. The color choices aren't bad, but without rust and grime and dirt that we all know come with Orks, it comes off as way too clean and pristine.

Still awesome work, just not very Orky in my opinion.

Agreed. It needs paint chips at the joins and rust. OTher then that, it does look pretty nice though, I like the bright colors on Orks, but then again, Im a BadMoonz player

Thanks for the replies guys and I personally couldn't agree more. One of the things the client stressed to me though was go really really light with the weathering and chipping on this. I personally would have liked to add some grease and larger paint chips and metal scratches but he had asked for very little. I agree though the grimier the orkier.

With all the red white & blue on these, I feel like saluting & singing the Star Spangled Banner! LOL

I like the flames.

Yanno, maybe gawdy and bright colors on Jets is a good idea right now. Since so few things have skyfire, maybe that will attract enemy players to try and shoot down the jet, which will generally work out in the Orks favor.....interesting thought
