I got a good start on my Knight Warden - Done all the body metal work, pipes and cables:

It's the plastic one - I used the plastic hobbits too, but not a fan of Aragorn or Boromir plastics, so I have the metals lined up for them.

I do love GW's Tolkien stuff. Nice job on the wandering wizard.

Made a bit of progress on Weathertop - I filled the worst of the gaps left by my inept assembly, and added a few of the citadel vines around it.

I have finished 2 more old-school Orks - A Warboss (with terrifying Attack Squig!) and the final Nob:



I was thinking I could spray varnish and base these, then it snowed again all weekend... You can look forward to seeing them again, based, in a couple of weeks

That only leaves a Shokk Attack Gun left to paint for my Orks (oh, and the Dakkajet the mini Slinkies gave me for Christmas).

Next up, 4 Aragorns

As with many of these RT Orks, I love the models, but didn't enjoy painting them for some reason... But he was the last one, so never mind! I do have a Dakkajet still to paint to completely finish off my Orks, though.

Next up (soon) will be 2 Boromirs, including one who doesn't look very well...

Cheers - Overall a very bland paintjob, just couldn't get enthused.

Today we have 2 Boromirs finished - Still not got around to spray varnishing anything as the weather has been mixed, so the queue to be varnished and based keeps on growing.

My regular gaming opponent is a big fan of buying already-painted models, and has acquired a force of 30k Sons of Horus.

So, having agreed to put together a force to play 30k with him, and being the sort of fool who wants to paint all his own models, I now have to get cracking on that.

When I saw the model of Dorn I knew I wanted to play Imperial Fists, and their special detachment with lots of shields appeals as it will make it a bit more different from all my 40k marines.

So, I have stuck together my first 5 breachers:



And painted a Primaris (first marine I had to hand) as a colour test:



My aim is for quite a bright yellow, but heavily weathered. I think it's nearly there, need to work on the sponge weathering a bit to avoid getting such big splodges.

A bit more progress on my Knight Warden. Now the leg plates are done (except for transfers, which I plan to do all together at the end):

So, weather was finally good enough to get some varnishing done, so part 1 of the baseathon is complete!
