Great butt.

Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, they've done a handful of male pin-ups now.

Viterbi wrote:Lot of nice updates and I hadn't realized it is a penguin, he looks very cool. Love the elven mage, cloak looks good and I love how protective she is of the bonsai

Thanks!

My run of decent painting time kinda dried up this week, but I did get a little done.

The Champion is almost done, just the axe to go.

Ram is getting there slowly, but he's looking a little messy, my brush skills weren't quite up to painting that rope-bondage getup of his.

Loving Ram, nice colour choices. I think you did fine on the bondage ropes, looks tidy enough to me.

Thanks! That piccy was taken after I'd spent quite a while slowly fixing everything!

Despite not doing too much painting this week I still managed to finish the Champion (Games Workshop):-

Happy he's finally done, pain in bum to photograph though.

I also thought I'd finished Ram:-

But I'd forgotten to make him a base

Started new stuff too.

Padean the mighty barbarian.

And the Shrike Urchin, who, even with his base weighted with putty, tips over incredibly easily.

Great work finishing the Champion and Ram! Do you have an idea in mind for what you want to do for Rams base?

Thanks! Rams base is going to be pretty simple, his wacky throne of arms takes up most of the space.

Shrike urchin looks very spooky, but the designer should be slapped, weighing that mini down really looks like an impossible job. Love the cloak of the chaos champion, nice work on the fur and the red.

The pose on the Shrike Urchin is really hard to read. I honestly can't make heads or tails of the model.

Now showing more Samurai Marines, Bad Squiddo Amazons, and an Oldhammer Chaos Thug!

Painting total as of 3/28/2024: 21 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

Yes, the Shrike pose is a classic example to me of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

The Shrikes problems are a little on me, I attached him to his base a little too far forward, but yeah it's one they should have left resin-only.

It's a hard mini to photograph, particularly with my poor skills! Hopefully as I paint more of him, he'll make more sense.

Thanks for looking!

Finally got Ram (Kingdom Death) finished:-

He's still a little rough in places, but I'm happy.

Also made good progress on Padean:-

Should have him finished soon.

Shrikes going very slowly though:-

For every part I paint, two seem to take it's place! On the plus side though, I straightened one of his legs a bit and he's no longer really unstable.

Finished Padean (Games Workshop):-

Really pleased with how this one ended up.

Still struggling with Shrike:-

I'm getting there slowly, but it just seems to be taking forever.

In the mean time, started my next Underworlds mini, Laserian:-

He's angry!

And while I had my flesh paints out, I also started this guy:-

I think it's a Scarecrow, but I need to dig out my Etherfields box to make sure.

Not going to be getting as much (for me) painting done for a while though. For reasons I don't really understand, I brought a model kit Bakery Shop:-

And putting it together is eating up quite a bit of my hobby time.

Possible Scarecrow os one heck of a model. Quite bizarre. I have seen those little build kits before. They are INTENSE.

Love Padeon, the light blue is a cool color choice and he looks very classic fantasy.

Yeah, wasn't expecting the difficulty level on the Bakery to be quite so high, I'll get it built eventually.

Thanks!

Finally got Shrike (Twisted) finished:-

Not super happy with him, but very glad he's finally off the table.

Also made a little bit of progress on Laserian:-

Should have him wrapped up before too long, hopefully.

All painted up and viewed from different angles, the Shrike is actually a pretty neat model.

It is. I need to paint his friend the Ratcatcher at some point.

Not painting at the moment. Ran out of greaseproof paper for my wet palette, and can't seem to find any at the mo' (and painting without a wet palette is just too weird now).
I've bit the bullet and ordered some proper palette paper, but until that arrives I'm building stuff:-

Kingdom Death stuff.

Looking good on the latest bunch, and always a fan to see where you will be going with the Kingdom Death models

Yeah there's some really neat minis amongst this latest batch of Kingdom Death stuff, I've set a few aside for painting sooner rather than later.

Got my new wet palette, but still struggling to get going on the painting front.
Did manage to finish Laserian (Games Workshop) though:-

Pretty pleased with him.

Also made a little start on this Kingdom Death lady:-

She's got a weird left eye for some reason.

That's not a weird left eye, it's Picasso®-approved Great start on the mini and nice job on the chaos dude!

Thanks!
She'll eventually be holding a bug in front of her face, so it won't bother me so much.

Speaking of bugs:-

Being from Kingdom Death they, of course, have human faces.

Also made a start on Fahime, my next Underworlds mini:-

Keep making silly little mistakes (how did that spot of wash get in her hair?), so she's rather messy, but coming along okay.

That Wych elf is looking really nice, really digging your colour picks so far on this one. The face in particular is very well done.

Thanks! I'm not hugely happy with her, it's one of those minis where all I can see are the mistakes.

Getting back into a painting groove, Fahime (Games Workshop) is done:-

At least she's off the table now.

Bug Girl is getting there:-

And I'm much happier with her.

Also started the next Underworlds mini, an Orc:-

Very early days.

And, totally out of left field, a Sewer Golem:-

Lots of fun to paint so far.

I know the feeling on that one Aku-chan. My Morathi model is single handedly one that I am most proud and ashamed of all at once. Some times I look at her and feel pride in what I was able to do but then I notice every single mistake I made and want to spend the next 10 years infinitely tweaking her colours. For what it's worth I think your take on Fahime is top notch.

That Sewer Golem is weird as I think Kingdom Death on the whole is nothing for me, but I always love your paint jobs on those minis. Excited to see it develop more, already looking cool.

Thanks! The Golem gets weirder, eventually there'll be a little dude in a gas mask fishing off it.

Haven't been painting as much as I'd like (Stupid shaky hands!), but I did manage to finish the Bug Thief (Kingdom Death):-

Her bee-themed fur didn't end up looking as cool as it did in my head, but overall I'm happy with her.

Since I was concentrating on getting her finished neither my Orc:-

Or Golem:-

Has seen much progress.

Thanks guys!

So no updates in a little while, I've been assembling my Cursed City set (I build as slowly as I paint):-

But now I'm back painting, and I finished Thabron (Games Workshop):-

Pretty pleased with how he ended up.

The Sewer Golem is continuing to get there slowly:-

So many little details! I also made a start on it's friend Cuttleberry:-

I don't think I want to know what you would catch fishing in the sewer.

I also started painting my Cursed City stuff:-

Beginning with the Ogre.

Finally, started another Kingdom Death mini, Swamp Girl, her fancy base came out well:-

But I'm struggling with the girl herself:-

She's got this weird smile on her face, but I'll be danged if I can paint it right. Plus, after a couple of attempts, the actual sculpted detail of her mouth is pretty much gone.
Going to set her aside for a couple days, see if I want to strip her down and start over or not.
