If you grab it from eBay it's not so bad, but then you have to wait before you get it :S poor planning I say
One 10g bag will do thousands of models if you're just doing little tufts

Aww yiss more eldar the better! Especially a fluffy wraith-list rather than a cheese-list Automatically Appended Next Post: And done! Few among the Craftworlds truly believe that there are Eldar still living in the Eye. Only in the babbling of the deranged and the rhetoric of doomsayers are the twisted playthings of She Who Thirsts mentioned with any kind of certainty. Yet, here they stand, staining our world beneath their cursed feet. "Curious, is it not, that where they tread crystals sprout from the ground. Crystals of the same design as those that form our soulstones. Are these eldar trapped beneath The Great Enemy's gaze subtly rebelling against their master, providing us with the means to escape Her grasp. Or, more worryingly, is this all part of Her plan? Are the soulstones we covet so highly our salvation, or a trap?" - Illythian the Doomsayer, Outcast of Ulthwe I've also finished modelling my next two Croneworlders I've fallen in love a little with how the whole colour scheme looks contrasting the pallid purpley skin with the deep right purple Eldar undersuit and the grey of the armour plates in typical Eldar-style block colour. It looks Slaaneshi, but unmistakably Eldar for these two, I've tried to keep a similar hint of Craftworld Eldar in the modelling to keep that connection, and it's actually got me rethinking Ylris (much though I love her design). I can't help but feel that she needs some Craftworld parts to make her unmistakeably Eldar too. Any ideas?

That basing looks good, man.
I like the mutated guy on the left. The grotesque claw and the archaic shield design work well together. Especially paired with the weird asymmetry of the $gender_unspecified with the whips on the right.
They'll look good paired together, and show off how the gods' blessings come from the same source but are never the same. sort of thing

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm having great fun mucking about with various mutations I'm trying to keep them away from the obvious tentacles and crab claws, in the same way as the Blightdar mutate slightly differently to humans so do Croneworlders saying that, Slaanesh is an Eldar God so I'm sure there's space somewhere for them
What do you reckon? I've got some Daemonette champion claws knocking around. Give them a try?

Thanks dude yeah the overarm 2-hander lady I'm dead proud of
Yeah there was one particular daemonette I had in mind with that one, although looking at pics I think it's actually an amalgamation of two different ones.
I really hope they bring back the whole sultry look to daemonettes. I know I'd buy a kit if they did, rather than just the odd leg or two for these guys...
Oh, and a slightly better shot of the newest addition

loving the Croneworld stuff.
Thinking I want to steal your wraithbone = Sylvaneth tree stuff idea for an Exodite/Ynnari army, and had been thinking about a Treelord as the base for an Avatar of Khaine, but only just realised the size discrepancy. Do you think a Kurnoth Hunter would be a good place to start? and what could a Tree Lord work as? A Wraithlord?

Thanks a ton guys! Really glad they're looking properly sinister. Might have to turn up the grimdark on my DEldar in that case!
@craggy go for it it's a really cool aesthetic. Looking forward to what you come up with for it
I'd say a Treelord would make an excellent Avatar (it's face and mouth in particular are very Avatar-like). It doesn't scale with the old metal Avatar, but it fits pretty well with the FW Avatar which I always thought was a better size. Plus, it's a distraction carnifex so the bigger the better
I think Kurnoth Hunters scale pretty nicely with Wraithguard. I know I've seen an excellent kitbash between the two

Ooh nice! Looking forward to that
One of the things I like about Croneworlders is you can make them as evil as you like (or, rather, as opposed to other Eldar as you like).
They can be twisted playthings of Slaanesh who do her bidding as a sort of learned helplessness/stockholm syndrome thing like mine, or still (relatively) sane Eldar desperately hiding and trying to survive in the eye
You should definitely have a go they're really fun to make Automatically Appended Next Post: Static grass finally arrived!
The twisted herald moved its head ponderously side-to-side as it surveyed the ruined battlefield ahead, its tattered antlers lending inertia to its movements. Ragged were its breaths as it tasted the metallic tang of blood in the air. Its interest piqued by a scent lingering in the air it strode languidly through the corpses. Despite its mutations, it had lost none of the grace with which the Eldar are blessed. A characteristic thrown into sharp relief by the discordant metallic scrape of its blade dragging across the flagstones.
Reaching its quarry, it unfurled an elongated forearm towards the wounded Guardian below, caressing its spattered cheek. "You are not long for this world," the herald spoke, it's voice a deathbed whisper, so hoarse it was barely audible. "This need not be the end, my child. Come. Be with Mother Isha. She waits for you."
First attempt at weathering what do you think? I tried for a sort of osteoporosis style gradual decay of his wraithbone armour.
Heorulf, Astartes of the Death Guard is done too
Part of the background for him is that he's a first generation Terran-born Marine. As the Dusk Raiders were initially recruited from 'the warlike clans of Old Albia', so I figured it'd be fitting to give him an Anglo-Saxon name
I am slightly regretting doing the tentacles in red rather than green. I've done enough red on my other models, and green just feels more Nurgly. Too scared to do it though as with the thick gloss layer I'd probably lose all the detail repainting. Does the red look out of place?
The other thing I tried to do was paint his armour in the same scheme as the pre-Heresy Death Guard, but all beaten up, decayed and mutated. It never quite made sense to me for the Traitor Legions to flee to the eye, and then decide to spend their first days lovingly repainting their armour. Especially the Death Guard. Have a similar idea for a World Eater working on the bit of fluff that they never repainted their armour, they just haven't cleaned off the layers of dried blood
Lastly, I've got a bit of headcanon that the Chaos Gods didn't really just pop into existence in the form they are now. More that they were pre-existing unaligned or benevolent warp deities who were warped and twisted by the horrors and suffering unleashed during the descent of the 40k universe from 'tolerable' to 'grimdark'.
I reckon Nurgle began life as a fertility god. A god of the harvest. A god of the spring solstice and renewal following winter. Over the millennia, the horrific acts of the races of the early history of the 40k galaxy twisted him into the plagued nightmare he is today. However, little hints still show through of his origins. Wherever he touches the materium, life blossoms. Sure it's horrific and diseased, but it's life nonetheless. That's why the Blightdar have got little wells of foetid water welling up from beneath their feet, and the grass where that water touches is beginning to green again.
As part of a wider plot point, the desert worlds of Selesti where all of my Eldar (and my Knight Worlders and other dudes) are situated used to be verdant worlds. They were invaded by Nurgle and their ecologies irrevocably changed by his presence. Nurgle was eventually driven from the sector after much bloodshed, leaving desert worlds where life barely clung onto existence in his wake. However, the point being that it wasn't Nurgle's presence that caused the ecological collapse, but his absence. He's a fertility god. By driving him away, the lands fell into barren desert.
Little musings to keep me amused at work at any rate shot of the two together for anyone who made it through that particular ramble!

@I_F Nope! Completely passed me by. I'm just waiting for the Slaanesh focus to roll around, although by then I'll probably have just finished an Emperor's Children truescale dude...
@EDC Thanks man! I'm enjoying doing things with some more unnatural-looking skintones, and having a go at different sorts of washes to give skin different hues. It's quite interesting how some of them interact with each other actually, especially things like greens and purples. Greens seem to make skin more alien and sickly, and then purple brings it back to looking a bit more human.
Very interesting...

Thanks dude!
I suppose it could just be my innate desire to have pretty much everything only one shade of colour away from the rest of the model not sure why, but I always feel my models look weird if that's not the case. I'm fine with other people's models having higher contrast :S
It was these guys that sort of influenced the red on him. (spoilered as I'm at work an it'll flash up on my screen, so I might get questions it'd take a long time to explain).
Perhaps I should make a bit of a theme of having splashes of red in the rest of the warband. Not sure why, but the name for another dude has popped into my head as 'The Bloodworm', which is nicely evocative now I just need to think of a model to fit the name
