The ittd bulkhead test looks good, certainly looks like the off-white painted lagging on warships to me, probably with cables in unexpected places hiding behind it too!

Haha thanks

Well I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, I'm now suffering from the all the cake and cheese I've stuffed myself with, but I did get some pressies to share, my first actual forge world minis:

Got me that Palatine Enforcer lady with her robo-doggo and a rouge doc with a few extra arms

Put together the Enforcer and her doggo first, swapping out her stub gun for a Delaque Webber, adding a holstered pistol and some (probably) flashbangs.
And then I ate some Christmas dinner, blacked out and:

Suddenly had a painted robo-doggo...
Will call him stripe after the evil mogwai from gremlins, joking, he's covered in hazard stripes...

+++

Got me another civvy painted:
The Lookout:

While the other juves play and fool around, Miala keeps an eye out for anything hungry...

This gal is a Frostgrave female wizard, with outcast arms and a spare hand grafted on from a rouge psyker, she is pretty short compared to my other models so seems better to use her as a juvie

+++

Lastly been sprucing up some of my older models:

Updated on the left, original paint on the right...
Been fixing mistakes, adding better eyes and more markings as well as a purple shading wash to improve my models.
Just done the Eschers and now working my way through the Goliath's so I can get some nicer pictures for Instagram...

That's all for now, see you in the new year!

Ah, I’m jealous of the forge world minis! The paint job on stripe is really cool, blacked out hazard striping seems to be the way forwards . The updated Goliaths are looking fancier too.
Hope you have a good New Years!

Thank you, I was thinking that hazards stripes might be the way to go but wasn't sure how to put them on the Enforcers as well.
I have one already in Judge Dredd colours but I'm not feeling it...

So first thing first down in the hive:

Started with finding a use for all my pipes, I've pretty much used up all my zone mortalis walls so looking for more ways to use the platforms

+++
Some paint on some juvies:

+++
Building some Guild of Coin thugs:

Heads and torsos from the ridge hauler kit, legs are catachan and arms cadian.
Was originally going to give them las or autoguns but didn't want to cover their chests, gotta show off those ridge runner torsos...
+++
Broke on old servitor so decided to rebuild and improve him, he's called Donatello:

Donatellos sole purpose is to roll out black paint in thick straight line...
Then his friend takes over:

Leonardo's sole purpose is to spray thin yellow lines over any thick black lines he finds...
+++
Lastly for the week
A Frostgrave wizard for use for D&D:

This is the new model for Eric the Cleric, his patron is Pelor (sp?) A sun god, so I wanted some yellow and a sun motif on him...

Those 2 servitors are incredibly sad, particularly Donatello. Forever dragging around that roller, poor sod. Still, probably the most 40k thing I’ll see all day!

Been busy doing quite a bit of painting this week
First up got the fuzz painted:

Made a guy in a coat as a Watch Captain, I'm imagining him as more of an official than an active duty Enforcer, doesn't mean he can't do the job though...

Next up is PFO Roland, equipped with a grenade launcher for crowd control...

Lastly for the cops, my version of Scrutinator-Primus Servalen, I switched out her stub gun for a Delaque Web Guantlet.
I have a couple of Subjugators with bolters on the paint queue but I'm aiming to keep my Palanites more interested in arrests than shootings and so I'll be getting a few more Webbers in their hands.
+++
From cops to hired thugs in a uniform, here's some of Mercer's goons:

Here's Guilder Coss

And here's Guilder Scal
Guilders Scal and Coss spend a bit more coin that they earn, but as they do their job well, Mercer turns a blind eye...
+++
Lastly some innocent Juvies playing ball:
+++The Catcher+++

Joss' ma says his Da is a famous 'Bowl player from the pict screens and was forced to leave them by his manager. He sees this man surrounded by fine food and finer women and thinks that if he plays well enough his Da will notice and whisk him away...

+++The Pitcher+++

Daev knows that despite what Ma says, his Da is not a 'Bowl star, but throwing a ball for his brother is something to do that costs him nothing...

Love the tale of Daev and Joss, even in the underhive there’s room for kindness… unless the stripey boys spot them playing next to a “no ball games allowed” sign

So What have I been doing the last few week?
Unfortunately the answer is being super depressed:
Spoiler:
I'm looking at potential "Homelessness" in the next couple of months, landlord has to sell due to divorce and didn't seem to realise what a Section 21 actually is so couldnt get help from the council and they had to reissue it like four times...
Because we've been poor a long time, we have very little in savings and a lot of debt so that anytime something happens (car, dentists, change of contract, etc...) it gets wiped out quick and takes a long time to build back up...
(being poor is expensive)
So that stops us from buying the place from the landlord...
So we have been looking for a new place to live since October, eventually got two viewings last week and we still haven't heard anything back from them.
This is obviously very frustrating especially as we are financially in a good place.
This all caught up to me a little while ago and I had trouble functioning and just zombied through the last few weeks...

Anyways managed to have a mental health weekend and now I'm feeling a bit better...

+++

So what have I managed to squeeze in hobby wise?

Got some paint on another Sevitor:

Michaelangelo's sole purpose is to maintain and replace the decorative skulls scattered around the dome

+++

Speaking of servitors, my final planned servitor, code red:

Gave him some paint:

Not happy with the red clothing, makes it look more like skin and highlights that the base model is a Flayed One so I have started putting some celestia grey on him...

+++

Put some paint to some ITTD terrain:

These bottles I believe have rules for sucking the air out of a compartment, so I painted them up as a fire suppression system which if it used Halon would be functionally the same rule wise...
If they don't remove the air, then its just an AFFF system instead...

Also up is some barricades:

Tried to do as much "correct" colouring for the industrial stuff as I could and tried to remember that things can be plastic in M41
I think it needs some labels though, EVERYTHING has a label on a warship (sometimes it even says something helpful)

Done a wall as well:

Unfortunately my wash didn't come out so good on this piece so gonna have to go over some of it with Agrax.
Overall I'm happy with how previous pieces have come out, but I keep thinking I should have followed a simpler drybrush metal over brown route and rusting it up...

+++

Peekaboo:

Painted this guy up, forgot his name, tried to go for a nitrile gloves and hood, make him look more medical professional than BDSM lover...
He needs a base and then he'll get a proper picture.

+++

Also picked out some scatter/greebles I have and put some magnets in them:

most of my ZM stuff has magnets in it for the ZM greebles so it makes sense to do the same to the resin bits from TTCombat.
The electrical boxes are from an eBay bits order, I think they're Mantic...

+++

Also on the not GW front:

Some fancy stuff from Mantic that I got for a present some time ago...
Tried to keep the paintings generic enough to use for both Necromunda or the D&D campaign my partner is still threatening me with...
If the portrait with a field in it looks wrong, its because I forgot to put something in it, I was thinking a tower or a tree...

+++

Some progress from last night:

Got a Ridge hauler promethium trailer a while ago and have been slowly building it until I got to a point where I could start painting.
Not happy with the hazard stripes, gonna have to widen the bottom of the whites stripes see if that fits.
Trailer is off colour compared to the drive unit because I used Mournfang as a base instead of Dryadd Bark, but a slobber of Ratling Grime helped on the underside

Lastly on the ashwastes vibe, I made some trees:

Kinda inspired by the pipe/cable bushes in Necromunda Hired Gun, I wanted to have wires coming out the pipes but it doesn't look right.
These are Mantic pipes with some spare GW bits, cap ends from a ridge hauler and who knows where the valve wheel is from...

+++

Thats all for now, recently had a little sort through of my Warhammer stuff so it might be time to figure out all the projects I have going and get them organised,
See you next time!

Really excellent models Guardling, the servitors look fantastic.

Having gone through something similar a couple of years ago I know how much of a nightmare it can be with a problem landlord and suddenly having nowhere to go. Hope it all sorts out and you can find somewhere else.

Thank all for the kind words, IRL is hopefully getting sorted soon. I'm going to have a few busy weeks and very little money for a while afterwards, good job I have plenty to do in my pile of shame...

+++

Anyways, on to some minis, and we have my take on the Forge World Doc Arachnos:

Tried to keep a look of white lab coat with nitrile gloves...

+++

More painted stuff in the form of a Gheistskull:

It got a little bit of plasticard added to the base to try to replicate a zone mortalis base and I'm starting to get the hang of using dirty down rust...

+++

Also painted this guy up:

Not sure what he's supposed to be, either a child or a midget, just found a grot and grafted some human bits on it...

+++

Got some paint on my pipe trees:

Also a metal skeleton:

Not super happy with the look of the rust, might add more Dirty Down later...
The sludge is Dirty Down Moss with some Tesseract Glow on top which I quite like...

+++

Onto my "big" project for a while:

Provisionally called Inquisitor Lamia, she started as a Greyfax model that I got with the Imperium magazine and then I got distracted...
I cut up a few tails from Necron Wraiths trying to find the right look and then scratch built something that works for me...

+++

And then every Inquisitor needs some minions and suddenly I had some Deathwatch:

These guys are based off the chainsword primaris marines, and I tried to cram in as many pouches as I could on them.
Like my other marines, these guys are supposed to be "true scale", or at least scaled to the Necromunda scale...

They've got some base colours now, a test scheme uses Ratling Grime over Eshin Grey for the black with contrast Black Templar for recesses and some edge highlighting...

+++

Lastly because I forgot:

I picked up some Gryph Hounds a while ago when I attempted to start a Howling Griffins force because of the obvious, maybe it'll make a move over to the Inquisitors retinue...

Loving the conversions!

Very inspirational, especially the Watch Captain conversion and the Inquisitor and retinue. May need to kitbash some Deathwatch now.

Capt. Hodgeheg

"I have seen war in all its forms. I have seen feral world savages braining each other with stones, and I have monitored the death of a whole planet at the hands of a virus bomb. I have seen Space Marines drop to certain death, and win. I have seen Titans crush whole platoons underfoot. But there is no more stirring sight in war than the charge of massed cavalry." - Dravin Gratz, 14th Tharinga Regiment.
