Hey folks. Finished off my first model in a long, long time tonight. I can see there are several issues with it - paint is too thick, need to work on my whites etc, but I'd appreciate any critique you might have.
Really enjoyed painting this though, despite the lack of finesse. I have a tactical squad and dreadnaught underway. Appears I've got the bug again...

Well, you've already identified your need to thin the paints down, and that'll make a huge difference. Leaving that aside, I think you've made a pretty sterling effort here. The purple looks great and I like the contrast with the base. You're well on your way, go paint more.

Thanks folks. It's always encouraging to hear nice things. I have a tac squad in a conveyor line at the minute, with the rest of the termie squad, a dread, and an assault squad waiting in the wings!
Hopefully by the time I've worked my way through that lot, I'll have a handle on getting the paint consistency a bit better, and the execution a bit neater.

As mentioned you may need to thin a little but otherwise this is an awesome effort for someone who has painted in a long time.
Good to dust off the brushes every once in a while and by the looks of things you've come back in a big way man, looking forward to seeing more.

Good tabletop mini. I have the same problem as you with using white (Ceramite White) as I was using it straight from the pot and not watering it down. Thinning down paints definitely goes a long way.
