Subject: Are Drop Pods Legal?

I was re-reading the Drop Pod rules when I saw this: "Drop Pods may be used in Standard Missions without your opponent's permission. In non-standard missions they may only be used with your opponent's consent." Which, really doesn't matter in the new GT's, as all the missions are standard. But how about say... Adepticon or Warhammer RTT's where the missions are not standard missions. Are the Drop Pods illegal in those situations? My question is basically this, are Drop Pods only legal in the six "Standard Missions" in the 40K main Rule Book, unless you have opponent's permission?

Check with the tourney organizers My question is basically this, are Drop Pods only legal in the six "Standard Missions" in the 40K main Rule Book, unless you have opponent's permission?
You answered that already. "Drop Pods may be used in Standard Missions without your opponent's permission. In non-standard missions they may only be used with your opponent's consent."

Droppods are illegal for any tournament mission that isn't in the rulebook. Of course, even Grand Tournaments allowed droppods when they used special missions (which they won't anymore), so nobody ever took it seriously. - Oaka

Well all the standard missions DO use the standard FOC, but the standard FOC is not ONLY used in standard missions. In the BGB the term standard mission now references the 5 missions detailed under "Organising a Battle". The mission starting on pg 90, are "Special Missions", and therefor non-standard, and any tournament mission not listed in the "standard 5" is, of course, non-standard.

Lordhat I believe that Skyth is correct in the fact that aslong as you are using the SFOC the mission is classified as 'Standard' the ones starting from page 90 all use diffrent FOCs IIRC.

BGB pg. 80: "There are a total of 5 standard missions to choose from. All of these missions use the standard Force Organisation chart. You can either agree with your opponent which mission to play, or roll a d6 and consult the Table below:"
Pretty clearcut IMO.
