As Altruizine says, I think you're mistaken.
I don't think I am.

Certainly other types of gang members - leaders and champions - can take weapons from the house list and trading post, but gangers cannot.

For example, Van Saar:
Van Saar Prime (Pg 37) - During the course of a campaign, a Van Saar Prime may be given additional weapons and Wargear purchased from this list, from the Trading Post and from the Black Market.
Van Saar Tek (Pg 45) - During the course of a campaign, both Van Saar Teks and Van Saar Specialists may be given additional weapons purchased from this list. In addition, during a campaign both Van Saar Teks and Van Saar Specialists may be given additional Wargear purchased from this list, from the Trading Post and from the Black Market.
One can purchase weapons and wargear from the trading post/black market, the other can only purchase wargear from the trading post/black market.

Compare the Van Saar ganger (or any other of the main 6 Gangers, plus the Red Ganger) to the Outcast's equivalent of a ganger, which says the following:

Underhive Outcast Hive Scum (Pg 31) - During the course of a campaign, both Underhive Outcasts Hive Scum and Underhive Outcasts Specialists may be given additional weapons and Wargear purchased from this list, from the Trading Post and from the Black Market.
Again, weapons and wargear, not just wargear as with most regular gangers.

But let's take a look at the more general rules that come at the start of each section, again with the Van Saar book:

Page 34 wrote:EQUIPPING A FIGHTER
All fighters can be equipped as follows:

If the gang is being founded for Campaign play, fighters will be limited to the equipment listed in their entry, whereas fighters in a gang founded for Skirmish play may also have access to some items of equipment from the Trading Post and Black Market. This should be agreed upon by the players.
Alright, that seems pretty clear cut, but what about the rest?

Also Page 34 wrote:NEW EQUIPMENT
During a campaign, gangs may gain new equipment, either by purchasing it from the Trading Post or Black Market, or as a result of Boons. These items are added to the gang’s Stash and may be distributed among fighters during any postbattle sequence:
• Any fighter may discard any Wargear they are equipped with in favour of new Wargear. Any Wargear discarded in this way is placed in the gang’s Stash and may be given to other fighters.
• No fighter may discard a weapon. Underhive gangers become attached to their weapons of choice and would rather hoard weapons than discard them.
• Fighters with the Gang Fighter (X) special rule that do not also have the Tools of the Trade special rule cannot be given a new weapon if it would take them above the limit of three weapons carried.
• Fighters with the Tools of the Trade special rule can be given more than three weapons as they can have multiple Fighter cards, each representing a different ‘equipment set’, as described on the next page.
That would seem to say that you can give whatever to whomever, except that that contradicts the rules in each specific gang member entry.

This is the general rules for equipping members of your gang. Each fighter type has their own specific rule for what they can and cannot take. Specific overrides the general.

Goliath Bruisers, Escher Gang Sisters, Orlock Gunners, Van Saar Teks, Cawdor/Redemptionist Brethren and Delaque Ghosts cannot take weapons from the trading post. It's right there in their rules.

If you can show me an FAQ that says otherwise, be my guest.

What is evolving is a gang specific weapons load out.

It just seems a little confusing, because of the Inch by Inch/ Centimeter by Centimeter way that they are pushing out the rules, while not addressing the elephant in the room that this has become.

By book 2, I figured that this was going to happen, by gang box three I was pretty sure that Necromunda isn't going to work the way in which we were all used to. The blaring lack of Juves, for one, even when they were in the early rules. Then as we get more and more specialized cheese per gang, I'm honestly not seeing it going to simmer down any time soonish...

One thing, about the new Outcast gang... No heavy weapons/ special weapons- yet.

What I see, is that you are going to have to get ready for more of this horsesh.... stuff before we start seeing a rehash of fifth and six boxed sets with even MORE ridiculous shortsightedness.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Nobody here said any them could.
See:
Baxx wrote:
The entirety of Chaos, Genestealer, Corpse Grinder, Enforcer, Venator, Outcast have TP/BM access.

These are your mistakes:
 H.B.M.C. wrote:
Regular Gangers in a Venator gang (ie. Hunters) pick everything from the trading post. Palanite Patrolmen can only choose weapons from their list. Corpse Grinder Skinners can only have stuff from their lists. Helot Cultists appear to have the same rules. Aberants and Neophyte Hybrids again seem to follow the same rules.
But they're understandable oversights, since you haven't played the game, and therefore haven't come to grips with rules questions that have already been litigated by the Necromunda community over the past few years.

Indeed. From now on all OT posts are going to be removed and their author suspended, this is beyond ridiculous now. We have a specialists game sub forum for a reason, start using it and cease clogging up this News and Rumours thread.

So, er... on-topic.

What are we expecting next for Necromunda? As far as I was aware, the Outcasts were the last previewed kit. All the main 6 have their own book.

Where do they go next? Or is that a mystery to be revealed soon?

Expanding the guilds, focusing on another hive or going outside the hives have been mentioned.

Each gang will get a new book, totally invalidating their 1 year old books while also invalidating all the trading post/black market lists they have previously published.

Delaque weapon sprue at least. It’s not been previewed, but we know it’s coming.

Delaque weapon sprue, Enforcer weapon sprue, Meat Grinders sprue.

Books to go with Enforcers+Meat Grinders. Maybe a plastic character for each book/House down the line.

Hopefully tiles coming back, permanently.

Are Enforcers and Grinders going to get another box with a "specialist" sprue in it?

Enforcer detectives, combat robo-dogs, and similar would be pretty well received I think.

What about weapon sprues? Currently only the House gangs have the various weapon and head packs from Forgeworld, so there is not anything to port over directly.

Next up possibilities

Another chaos cult (could put a couple in a single book)?
Zombie plague with nurgle based cult attached so they can sell pox walker boxes (I would LOVE this with waves of crappy zombies)
Undersump mutants?
Ratskins?
Genestealer cult (Could go in a cult style book with chaos)?
Spyrers?

I would want books for all of these before going into guilds and houses.

If this were to happen I'd just shrug, then continue using the current books. I've purchased way too many Newcromunda books for me to ever consider buying new versions.

If a new edition doesn’t launch, I think you are probably right. If a new edition launches, I know you are. And last month marked the magic four year mark. If it weren’t Covid world, I suspect a new version would be in this year’s Christmas wave.

I really hope for more Ash Wastes/mining stuff. It could lead to more variety of Hive-detritus and other guilds.

Out of that, it’s really only the Delaque sprue we know to expect.

Enforcers kind of already have one, in the form of Subjugators.

Hive Secondus, and Ash Wastes. IIRC, there was a hive that was placed off limits for... Plague Zombies, and Another Hive that had Orks in it.

Spyers should also be making an incoming appearance in the next year, as well.

Enforcers have, effectively, their "expanded" box with the Subjugators. There's still other stuff that can be used for a sprue.

Not much. The weapon sprues have filled out options from each gang's basic list, and Enforcers basically have everything in their list already covered except... autopistols?

To make a weapon upgrade sprue for them someone would have to sit down and go, "hmmm what are Enforcers likely to buy from the enormous Trading Post?"

I would not mind if there was a sprue with two plastic Hardcase robo-doggies to match the aesthetic of the Forgeworld one, along with some half masks (again to match the FW look) and I could think of a bunch of other things I would like it filled in with.

Yep.

There's also just some general "variation" stuff that could be added. Different poses for the bolters/shotguns, etc.

Rereading the Dark Uprising blurbs...
-Subjugators are mentioned as having Enforcer Boltguns(not currently available)
-Something called a Palanite M.O.N.I.T.O.R. is namedropped.
-Shock Staves are missing for both Enforcers and Subjugators.

Mechanicus oriented stuff would be a great way to have tech-thralls, we already have slave-ogryn so not that far away. Skavvies & Ashe Wastes stuff could go the mining guild route and flesh out the guild system further.

I've honestly been thinking that Tech-Thralls will be coming for AdMech in 40k proper, so it's possible they could show up in Necromunda too?
