No responses yet? I guess this list is rock solid then eh? Capt K

The list seems very solid in every area. The only suggestion is to mabey drop the predator and put in another las/plas squad. You might want to find the points to give the assault squad melta bombs.

Oops! I forgot to type that in the assault marine portion. They do have meltabombs. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I have a few more play tests this weekend and we'll see if the predator stays or goes. I have a las/plas waiting in the wings. Heck, I might play a few games with both variations and see what works better. The pred has been average so far. Capt K

That all you got to bring to the table Capt?

Your bringing that over your Sisters?

I'd have issues with the Predator weapon layout and the 2x flamers in a 6x assualt squad. But I think that is more personal taste.

In any case you best leave the Gladiator to your teammates....and get some beauty sleep we will need you fresh for the following day.

Following tradition my Gladiator list will be available on Monday.

I think your Pred will die too fast by itself. Remember the MBT maxim- "One tank is a target, two are a threat, three are a nightmare." I know you're planning to hide it out of LOS with that weapon config, but in a lot of games it's going to die when it pokes its head out, and one twin-las shot and six HB shots isn't going to be worth the investment.

I'd consider spending the points beefing up the drop podding squads. Right now they're too expensive to really be suicide squads for meltagunning a tank, and too few to really hold an objective or do any real damage with the bolters on the drop. I'd consider dropping the combi-melta and giving the vets powerfists instead. I know you're trying to make the melta-drop reliable, but I don't think it's really cost-effective. 10 man squads with PF, on the other hand, can lay down 17 shots of hot bolt death on an infantry unit and survive a counter attack. Either that or just go 5 men with a Melta and spend the other points elsewhere.

Muhwe: All that I'm bringing? That's a lot of killy shooting. My sisters aren't quite at 2k yet since I would have to paing waaaay more fiddly stuff and not get it done. The Ultramarines are hitting the Gladiator and I have no expectations, since it will be my first. Don't worry, I'll be fresh for our TT slaughterfest. Mann: Yeah, I actually had the DP squad at 8 and realized that I forgot to add the donkey cannon to the 3rd speeder. So I had to drop the DP squad down to 6. I might forgo the DP squad all together and make that squad another las/plas squad, then move the DP as the transport for my librarian. As for the predator. It has performed average and so it hasn't quite hit the cutting room floor just yet. That may change after this weekends final play test games. Capt K

Thats right you have. Really though, the dice decided those two games (at least more then dice normally do). That hammerhead should have died.

I dont think you should drop the DP squad. Against an army that you actually could get penetrating hits against the squad would do much better. Didn't the DP sargeant have a power weapon?

Good luck in the gladiator.

Yeah he did, but after re adding up the points I was over slightly on the account of not adding the points for the donkey cannon on the 3rd speeder. I have since removed the power weapon and reduced the squad size of DP marines to 6. I am afraid that the DP squad is too small to do any real damage. I'll have to play test it some more this weekend. I need to get the timing down. That Librarian wrecked your sh*t in that one turn though! hehe. Capt K

Yea he did...

What armies do you intend to test it against. Not that many people that show up all the time have truly competetive lists.
I guess that another las/plas squad may be more effective, but then you do lose some of your mobility.

I'd like to test it against a tyranid godzilla list since I feel that is another list that could give me trouble. Khornate would be fun too. Capt K

Cpt. K,

Looks like a nice list.  10 termies,  36 marines, lots of shooting.  It'll be interesting to see how it does against an all DP army.  Something that can get up and in your grill quickly may be a problem.  You could end up with a lot of stuff as sitting ducks.  Of course, you could also end up rending the living bejesus out of someone as well...

I'll echo the thoughts on the pred though.  It's just one armored vehicle, so a nice first round target for anyone with any shooting.  Speeders are an interesting choice though.  That's a whole lot of rending love you've got.

Papa: yeah I fired the Predator last night. Instead I beefed the DP squad back up to 8 and added a five man las/plas squad. As for getting up in my grill, well it all depends how good the reserve rolls are. However, my termie squads usually don't start on the table and neither does the DP. So if I were to play against DP and the mission had deepstrike most likely I'd hold anything that deepstrikes in reserve, castle up what can't and rely on the Tarot to make you go first. Then I try to pick you apart in when I fall out of the sky. It also greatly depends on the mission though. It's my first Gladiator, so I don't have many expectations. As for the rending...with 7 donkeys that better happen! hehe. capt K.

Weak. I hope you've got something to do, because round 4 just won't be an issue for you, Capt. At least your teammates will be assured that you'll get a full night's sleep before the Team Tourney.

Oh dear. When did CB ever get a full night's sleep. I know DP Fun is having nonstop beer and porn in our HQ room. I would expect no less of Hank and da' boyz.

Shoot, I'm looking forward to the CB afterparty. I saw the pictures last year and won't miss it running a silly Blood Bowl tournament this year.
