Hey Guys,
Has anyone else noticed that alot of players are trying to man the AEGIS Defense line's Automated defense gun?
Just check out the BRB concerning Battlefield terrain VERSES Battlements.
Battlements can be manned, Battlefield terrain cannot be manned.
Not to be a jerk guys, but it was pointed out to me at a local tournament....it wrecked my day.
I thought you could man them as well, but they cannot be manned.
Just a shout out, dont get caught with your junk blowing in the wind!!

No , its in there.
Check out the rules concerining Battlements and then check out the rules concering Battlefield terrain. Then check the actual "datafax" of the defence line and the Bastion. You will notice that the defence line is Battlefield Terrain. The Bastion is a Structure.
Its kind of a sticky clarification, but it is there.
It was very enlightening to say the least...

Completely irrelevant. Of course you can't man a wall, there's nothing to man. The quad-cannon is a gun emplacement. You might want to read a little closer. Page 114: "add one of the following: - Gun Emplacement..." Page 105 describes gun emplacement rules.

Care to give some exact rules to prove that you weren't blatantly cheated? Gun emplacement pg 105 read the rules for it?

Under Gun Emplacement (p.105): "One model in base contact with the Gun Emplacement can fire it blahblahblah."

I almost had the same thing happen to me at one of the few local MTG tournaments I went to. They tried to claim lands had color (Mountains were red, Swamps were black, Forests were green, etc.) The judge was a damned idiot as far the the rules went but he handled the situation fairly well (went online to the official rulebook and checked) as opposed to just saying he's right and I'm wrong.

The way the tourney runners explained it , it was a Battlefield terrain, not a structure....
Anyone else out there have any feedback?

As above. The TOs were wrong.
The quad gun is a Gun Emplacement. If you are in btb with it you may fire it. No need to "man" it.

I honestly don't see how this is an issue. It's been addressed with specific pages in the rule book from multiple people. The TOs were incorrect, your opponent was cheating, you fell for it. Pretty much story over.

Your TO needs to understand the ADL and the Gun emplacement are 2 completely different things, an ADL is indeed a battlefield debris or however it is spelled on the book and therefore cannot be manned. Additionally to that you can purchase a gun emplacement which isn't an ADL it is a gun emplacement which follows the rules for gun emplacements

Doesn't even pass the "think it through" test - how would the gun fire if it wasn't manned? Gun emplacements aren't automated so if you can't man it... it's a waste of points.

I wasn't attacking, I was trying to figure out the thought process of the other player.
Did he let you shoot it automated (IE BS2)? Or was he saying that it's essentially a waste of points?

Yeah, he graciously let me fire it automated.
Its okay, I go to tournaments to meet new gamers and maybe make some new friends. I just wont play that guy anymore
