I haven't tried the new edition yet and I've just dug out an old IG army I did years ago which mainly consists of tanks, would it still be worth using or should I go for a more infantry based army now?

This is what I have:

4x Leman Russ
1x Exterminator
1x Demolisher
1x Basilisk
1x Griffon
3x Chimera
2x veteran squads
1x Company command squad
1x Rattling squad

Yes. Mech is better than foot guard now. The only thing that makes mech look weak is the air-cav lists. Don't worry about glances, it may have made mech guard weaker, but they're still really strong.

You're going to need to spam av:12 if you do though. 3 chimeras won't cut it in most games. Also you're going to need more scoring units, guard are squishy, and without a lot of scoring units, you're going to lose by default.


Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...
