Hello there this is the start of my Chaos warriors of Slaanesh blog. Hopefully it will grow and grow over the coming months.

My army is named the Lustvipers and their warcry is Flesh for Slaanesh. They have a thing for cannibalisim.

Here is the first unit that I have painted up the old Slaaneshi champion with a flail. I have named him Fiowe flay-fondle. I removed the spots the model had so that I would have more area to work with on his skin. The basic colours for my army are going to be purple cloth and pink armour with black or white thrown in here and there where it is useful.

The hardest part of him was painting his hood. I decided early on i wanted to try something new which would be a challenge to my painting skills so I devised using retile scales to show that my Slaanesh host sometimes wear expensive and exotic clothes. I painted the cloth after a period of trial and error. First was to attempt to paint on the pattern and then apply super-thin lines to make it look like scales. This just made it dark and rather messy looking as a grid of black lines can and is often used by artists to achieve shading.

Next I tried a lighter tone on the cloth with the scales painted on in darker tones. The result was it looked all spotty like he had some sort of pox, very good for doing something Nurgly but very wrong for Slaanesh. The final result was achieved by leaving the idea of indivual scales to the imagination. Trying to show the scales by painting them on or dividing up a pattern was not working. I then just painted on the pattern I desired and used highlights and shading on the flat surface to create the scaled pattern using freehand. I also used freehand on the underside of the snakes I have put on his base.

Here he is, any comments, questions, critcism etc welcome.

Great job on the hood (and on the whole model more generaly).

I don't remember if the nails were so long on this model, is this just because of your painting?

Thankyou, glad you like him.

The nails are big on this model. I think they may look a little bigger because I painted them in bright red. I also added a little gloss varnish to them so it would look like he paints his nails, which is in keeping with the Slaaneshi theme.

Don't worry, my model transport system is improving with more care taken with recent stuff.

I didn't know you had a boobworm, though I think I heard you mutter something about getting one. I have one of those which I am going to add in after a while.

They come from many lands. They are united by the darkness writhing with hideous intent within their souls and their praise of the Daemon god Slaanesh. They desire all possible and only pleasure and the gratification of their own foul urges. Nothing is safe from their lewd attention, not man or beast, alive or dead, good or evil. Of their families few have survived the unnatural pleasures these beasts of humanity sought in their company. Those that did have never found the warmth of hearth and home to have the promise of safe kinship it once did.

The members of this host are driven creatures. Driven from civilisation as their careful flirting and lewdness has eventually broken down into vile and horrific depravity. Filled with their enjoyment of their own disobediences and crimes they are driven on through the wilds and beyond by their monstrous lusts. They revel in their unnatural urges as they are compelled to countless and needless crimes and offences against all morals and sane enjoyments, indeed there is no foul act of which they are incapable. These depraved lunatics seeking out humanity of all kinds for pleasures and for fresh human meat to devour.

These flesh seeking monsters of men and women despoil all in their path regardless of place and circumstance. Even worshipers of the other dark gods are not safe from their loathsome intentions and so only those with the favour of Slaanesh can find any form of true kinship with them. Truly they will seek out the hosts of their god's rivals to destroy them, seeing the servants of Khorne as heretics beyond forgiveness as fervently as the most pious holy man. Yet they fall on one another when no other can be found to sate their grotesque joys, violating and mutilating each other. A testament to their depravity is to see that are willing to become sacrifices to the one another's desires. Their devotion to Slaanesh in not only the pursuit of pleasure but in it's creation makes them one and all willing sacrifices, even embracing the mind-blasting fate of spawndom with wilful, rampant desire.

Hounds of Slaanesh The Sateless Hunger

Here are my Chaos hounds. I have used Fenrisian wolves instead of normal Chaos hounds for them because the Fenrisian wolves are very cool. I painted them very pale to make them appear more Slaaneshi even though they don't have rules to be upgraded with the mark of Slaanesh and distinguish them as Hounds of Slaanesh. The colours used were the pale/purple greys in the new paints. I also mixed a lighter shade and used white on certain areas to improve the definition of the fur on the backs and thicker fur on the legs.

I also added some parts to the bases. I've been using Dryad arms as brances sticking out of the ground here and there. This is to show the effects of mutated plant-life of the Chaos wastes. I think that it helps the models go a bit farther in how they look than just being a bunch of Chaos doggys. I have them in a unit of fifteen but I will probably separate them into three units of five to make them more effective as cheap, expendable units.

Thankyou all, I'm glad you like my Chaos Doggys. The bases were fun to do. I think they add alot of character to them.

I'll get some pics up of my Chaos spawn in a few days.

Hey there everybody. Here are my two Chaos spawn, the Groping oblivion.

The first one is a conversion using mostly the Crypt horror body and some Hell pit abomination heads. I painted it a pale, pastel green to make it fit in with the Slaaneshi them of my army but still seem gross. The second one is made from the Chaos spawn set using all of the tentacles. I painted it white to make it seem more ghastly as it shambles forth, tentacles seeking victims to play with. I added some eyes and freehanded the details on them. I also added water effects to make the eyes more 3D and realistic.

Hope you like.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year from the hosts of Slaanesh!

Hey there everybody. Happy new year.

Sorry no Marauders yet, they are mostly done except the bases which takes a while and I ran out of stirland mud halfway through doing them. Also their eyes need more work, I painted them as basic green eyes with pupils etc and I am not happy, they are rather patchy and a little messy. So I'l be doing them all shaded with dark pink or purple, like weird tattoos or eye makeup. The eyes will then be done bright green, maybe with pupils, maybe not.

In the inbetween time here is a new Character I've done for my Slaaneshi warhost. His name is Morthless the obscene!

I will be using him as an Exalted Hero, probably leading my Chosen when they are done which won't be too long. I have converted him from a Mandrake and I've given him a shield from the Hellstriders of Slaanesh and Sigvald's sword. I also added some other bits like the cloth on his rear which comes from the plastic Dark elf Sorceress (future posts will show the full extent of her fate later).

I did the sword with (what I think) is a sort of NMM effect using green, I have not done much of that before but I'll be doing more of it. I find it looks good and it wasn't that hard. Anyway, I hope you like, comments, criticism, ranting and ramblings welcome.

Glad to see more stuff for this army, Leech! The mandrake conversion looks really good. In fact, I think I prefer your take on him more than the original one with the flame hands.

Thankyou. He is one of my favourites and the bits I added seem to work well on him. The right arm had to have most of it made out of green stuff, which I seem to be getting better at.

This is my Basilisk which I got from Forge World. I've named him Scalixoblex, the poisoned desire. It isn't a normal inclusion in an army because it needs Storm of Magic and or opponent's concent to use. However I think it is a cool model so I got one for my army.

I painted to as a big green monster, the bottom being lightest and then the top being the darkest. I added a pattern of red stripes onto the scales to make it more interesting. Painting all that green was a challenge. I like how the model looks sort of like a big lizard. The closed mouth and the posture is very different from the look of most GW monsters and I like that. The base is also interesting which I liked painting. I added lots of little bugs and a snake. Also the Basilisk base in unusual in that it has about four tiny bird skulls on it so I kept with that theme and added three more.

Comments and questions welcome.

Beautiful painting really impressive use of the Slaanesh pastels. The Basilisk really shines as well.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Gosh these are looking awesome. The eyes on that second spawn made me stop and stare for a good few minutes. The water effect makes them look incredible.

I'm working on a Slaanesh themed army too, but I'm doing a 40K mix of daemons and chaos marines.
