my ideas as for tactics is that the chimeras will block los for the enemy while blasting away light infantry so that my 3 lascannons can concentrate fire at enemy armour while my vets + command squads advance with there assault weapons.

Giant waste of points.

 

Senior Officer, no Standard Bearer, no ID, 4 GL's (WTF?) and a Heavy Bolter for a turret weapon. Multi-Lasers are fantastic weapons, so unless all you play against are Sv4+ armies, switch every Turret HB to a Turret Multi-Laser.

This unit should cost 176 points. 46 points saved.

Oh... God... Look, Sniper Rifles are terrible weapons. You need units filled with them to cause damage. Furthermore, you take 2 Flamers/Demo Charge in SWS's. That's all they do. They act as your counter-assault. Ditch the waste of space Sniper Rifles and get yourself a decent squad.

 

And why take SWS's if you're not going to take two of 'em?

Great. A single AV 14 target in a sea of AV12 targets. Guess what every Lascannon/Railgun (and similar) will be firing upon first turn.

 

I'll make this very clear:

 

Tanks operate in pairs, trios, or not at all.

Moreover, how can a 155 point tank cost your 170? 140 base, 5 for Hull HB, 10 for Sponsons. So that's another 15 points saved.

You can save 141 points just by dumping useless crap, and I'm not even counting the SWS's config because I'm not sure how much they pay for Sniper Rifles. That's almost another Russ.
