Ok, currently my local game guru and I have been arguing over how targetting selection works if a large target such as a Monstrous Creature, or a Vehicle is closer than another unit.

Now according to my reading of the rules on page 19, if a normal unit such as your infantry are closer to an enemy unit than one of your vehicles, he can decide to shoot at the vehicle instead without a morale check. . .

However the opposite is not true, if you have a vehicle closer to his unit he would have to make a morale check to not fire at your vehicle, even if he was unable to damage it. . .

This came up when someone had multiple Devilfish in front of their Fire Warriors, and kept forcing a Marine scout squad with a heavy bolter to fire at the Devilfish because of failed morale checks?

Correct. If the closest target is a 'Large Target', you must pass a Leadership test to fire at any other target.

This is true, you can only skip the leadership test when firing at large targets, and then you still have to take one if your chosen target is not the nearest of that category. You may NOT choose to shoot at "not large targets" and avoid the leadership test if your opponent's closest unit it a vehicle. Note that vehicles automatically pass the leadership test when choosing which units to fire at.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Ok, thats what I thought and frankly it makes more sense, if something the size of a double decker bus is coming towards me while firing massive weapons designed to punch holes through mountains, frankly I am going to be spraying it down instead of the little guy next to it. . .
