This is actually my first attempt at making building miniatures so forgive any shoddy workmanship or obvious oversights
The main body of my army consists of a Black Reach Ork army. I also have a Squad of grots with a Runtherd and a Deff Dread for heavy support.

They are mostly assembled, except for the Deff Dread. I still have to paint them and base them but I am enjoying the whole process!

These are my Black Reach Orks. Sorry about the lighting but I need to buy a new desk lamp :(

The detail in these kits is great, but For some reason I feel a little let down by the guns. Nothing a little elbow greese can't fix though!

There we go. Drilled out a barrel and cleaned a few mold lines and now it's all better.

Not sure if it was a good idea, but I drilled a few of them all the way to the ejection slot.

Look! He likes it! I'm not sure why, but I think this one just looks very happy. Probably all the killin' he can do now that his gun actually has a barrel

Fist ever attempt at drybrushing. Not very happy with the results. Luckily it's a part that I'm not planning on using (sorry again for the lighting... I'll fix it I swear!)

Second attempt. MUCH happier with this one, but again Dat Lightin'

More pics tomorrow!

Looking Good!

The mold lines are just part of the manufacturing process i'm afraid - always going to be that little bit of elbow grease required

I know. Some of them are just worse than others...
Painting is going to be the real challenge

I'd just view it as lots of practice, start with the basic boyz and try your best, then do the HQ & Other big costed units last once you have the skillz down pat

At least that's my plan

Quick update:
I didn't die or anything. Just been busy with work. I'm getting close to finishing the Deff dread but I need to order a bigger paint kit. The 18 colors I have now aren't cutting it :(

I see the potential makings of a dakkajet on your table in those pics too .. Good luck with the paints. I always grew my collection of paints slowly one or 5 at a time. Doing it that way wil lalso let you paint kit grow with your skill level, and you'll be better off for it by learning the tricks to work with the more limited color palette that will make you a better painter overall.

Agreed, keeping your colors simple at first and slowly adding wont allow you to get TOO ballsy

Looking good so far
