Six years ago, we were first introduced to the world of Midgard by the folks over at Kobold Press and their Kobold-in-Chief, Wolfgang Baur. Midgard has grown considerably in that time, especially with the recent release of the Midgard Campaign Setting.
But in all that time one problem has remained - how to represent the unique characters and races from Midgard on the gaming table. Perhaps a skeleton for an Imperial Ghoul? And what about Dragonkin, Gear Mages, Harem Assassins? And with the newly released Campaign setting even more people are now in need of characters and monsters to suit their game for this wonderful new world.

Well, EasternFront Studios and Kobold Press have teamed up to bring the world of Midgard to life on your gaming table with an exciting new range of quality miniatures.

Mick Leach, with his stable of talented artists and sculptors, has already started work on bringing these miniatures to your gaming table. The initial goal is to fund the production of 6 miniatures of the same quality that you have come to expect from EasternFront Studios. Check out pics of the initial minis below - the Dwarf Wanderer, Ghoul Necromancer, Gear Mage, Harem Assassin, Bone Collective and Aboleth.

All models come cast in high-quality resin, but can be upgraded to metal if you pay an additional $2 per mini to be upgraded

Unlocked Stretch Goal Type M Choices

We want to try and make this kickstarter as flexible for you as possible and minimise complex trades so we can focus on making you quality miniatures and getting them to your gaming table as quickly as possible.

Each miniature in this kickstarter is classified as one of 2 types: Type M (up to 35mm in height) or Type L (over 35mm in height). Each Pledge Level from GOBLIN onwards gives you the choice of one or more Type M miniatures that you can choose from the initial list and any unlocked through stretch goals. These choices can also be traded in for Type L minis. The Eastern Front Trading House section below outlines how many Type M choices each Type L mini counts as.

The Trading House also contains other extras and options that you can add to your pledge and rewards. For example, you can add more Type M and Type L minis to your rewards and 'upgrade' your resin Type M miniatures to metal (Type L miniatures, such as the Aboleth, cannot be made in metal).

Each human-sized model counts as a single type M choice, but there are larger available and that will become available.

The aboleth counts for 5 type M choices.

There is a traditional song often sung at this time across the Crossroads called the Twelve Days of Krampus. Well, we here at the Eastern Front Trading House have decided we should have our own version. Each day between now and Krampus Day (25th December) we will reveal another verse of the song and reveal what it means for you - maybe some news, more options, freebies, who knows?

Freebie Added to $9,000 Stretch Goal

Lothaus - miner, diplomat, devotee of Rava, Keeper of the Shadow Bell and Jiro's harder working cousin (credit to terraleon at the Kobold Press forum for that) - has been moved from the $11,000 goal and added to the $9,000 stretch goal.

What's more, should we hit $9,000, Lothaus unlocks as a freebie for all DWARF level pledges in addition to the Alseid (Deer Centaur) becoming available as a Type L model.

Stretch Goals Reordered

So what's happening to the stretch goals then? Well they all move down one - $13,000 now unlocks at $11,000 and the $15,000 now unlocks at $13,000. Stay tuned as more is revealed as we count down the remaining days of Krampus.

I really dig the look! I don't have cash for another KS right now, but I will likely be picking up some in the future! Very nice that you have the artist from Artesia doing the concepts too (and maybe more?) I really dug the look and feel of that comic.

$25,000 Stretch Goal Sneak Peak

Baba Yaga, Grandmother, trader of impossible secrets, and owner of a remarkable abode - a log hut with enormous chicken legs. This hut is the $25,000 Stretch Goal, standing between 8 to 12 inches tall (203 to 304mm).



So yeah, here's hoping this thing gets reached because holy crap!

$15,000 Stretch Goal: The Gypsosphinx

The Gypsosphinx - harvester of corpses, master riddler, and foreteller of death - lion-bodied and vulture headed. This fearsome magical beast soars on its giant black wings seeking carrion to consume. The Gypsosphinx will be the $15,000 stretch goal.

And here, without further ado, is both the concept art and work in progress shot of the green.



I don't have any information at this moment on how many choices it will be nor how much to add it to your pledge. But as soon as I do I will let you know.

12 Hours Remain To Have Your Say

Ok, its closer to 12 hours and 30 minutes, but anyway the poll on the $9,000 stretch goal will close at 11:59pm Thursday 20 December (EST).

Currently the (female) Minotaur Corsair is holding her small lead at the front of the pack. But close on her heels (hoofs?) is the Tiefling Summoner who has managed to widen her lead ever so slightly over the the Alseid (Deer Centaur). The Raven Mage, however, has closed in on the Alseid and is very close to overtaking him. However, anything can still happen and might depending on the votes cast. Do you have a favourite that you would like to see as the next stretch goal? Then make sure you have your say now.

Free Bonus Minis Every Third Stretch Goal Hit

Ok, the next piece of news is that every third stretch goal we hit will contain a special free mini for you, like the free kobold Lothaus offered with the $9,000 goal. If we don't make the kicker goal, then it is likely that the first bonus at $15,000, will be Myrt, the Druid Kobold. As we announce the various stretch goals we'll also annouce the bonus minis too.

Well, with Krampus right around the corner, we have a new special kicker goal for you. If we reach $9,000 by the 11.59pm Christmas Day (EST), we'll unlock the Grisal Dwarf as a Type M choice for you.

Introducing the Sculptors - Jason Wiebe, Fancagne Didier, Drew Williams and Tim Prow

Tim Prow has been sculpting for 15 years and has produced work for FASA, WizKids, and Reaper. He spends much of his current time running his own studio, through which his work he has been involved in film and tv. We don't hold the fact he recently did a range of Yu-Gi-Oh! figures against him and neither should you.



Jason Wiebe has sculpted for Reaper, Dragon Forge, WizKids and Wizards of the Coast and is the chief wizard at Pariah Artworks. He is also sculpting the miniatures for Low Life and will initially be responsible for any and all kobolds in this kickstarter



Fancagne Didier, in addition to being a renowned sculptor, is also multi-lingual speaking Vietnamese, Vanuatu Seke, English and French. He is spending much of his recent time sculpting for Kaha Miniatures.



Drew Williams is a regular at Gen Con, won 2 Frothers Unite! Pro-Am sculpting competitions, has sculpted for AEG, EM-4 Miniatures, Demonblade Games and Black Orc Games. In addition he does maquette sculptor for Pixar and is our resident enigma.



When the elves stop playing with the camera I'll give it back to my worker gnomes and put some pictures of their previous work up on the front page for you all to enjoy.

Greetings gamers well we are past Christmas and the new year is upon us so we have decided to do Baba Yaga's hut now as a add on item she was going to be the 25k goal but it seems it wasnt to be ...You have seen the modules and have the adventure such as in Dragon Magazine "The Dancing Hut" now own the iconic domicile...now we have added 4 versions of her hut..a smaller 6 inch version unpainted and painted and a larger 12 inch version painted and unpainted..limited to 100 of the smaller..75 unpainted and 25 painted..and 50 of the larger..painted and unpainted..5 being the really rare painted version.The miniature is to be Rapid Prototyped as you can see from the picture shown:



The legs will be separate so you can use the hut with and without the legs unless you specify for us to glue them for the painted versions.The larger will come with a certificate of authenticity and the limited of 5 will have a brass plague attached to the hut underneath saying who ((you)) who bought her and owns this awesome item.The first to buy in order gets their number reserved. If you decide to have a do a painted version for the Hut the painters we work with will do the highest quality job on the piece.The larger 12 inch hut also comes with a decorative base, fence and the skulls that protect the Hut.

9k achieved! This means that the female minotaur corsair is unlocked as a Type M choice and that Lothaus, the kobold with a pickaxe is a free gift to Dwarf ($50) and higher level backers!

Now that the 9k female minotaur corsair has been unlocked, and 11k looms on the horizon (only $700 away!), the poll for what the 13k stretch goal will be has gone up!

If you want to have a say, head over to the project and back it. The choices for 13k are the Eye Golem, Deer Centaur, and Raven Mage!

That's quite an impressive list of sculptors.

Yeah! I'm kind of excited to see what comes of the deer centaur and raven mage. The tiefling summoner (the current 11k stretch goal) has some great art, so I'm hoping the green is equally as impressive. Looking at the vulture sphinx green and the dwarf give me high hopes for the other sculpts

Thank you all for making the Raven Mage a reality, one of my personal favourites.

Raven Mage Unlocked

Reaching $13,000 means that the Raven Mage is now available as a Type M choice.



And all Scout pledges and higher now receive Wit, the Kobold Rogue, for free.



$14,000 (Unexpected) Stretch Goal - Grisal Dwarf

I'm happy to announce a new stretch goal at $14,000 - the Grisal Dwarf.



Thanks to Mick we realised we can add him and the Gypsosphinx for less than we realised so we've added him now without having to change the targets and significantly reorder the stretch goals again (as we would have if we added the Alseid).



If we reach $15,000 we unlock the Gypsosphinx (Vulture Sphinx), another of my personal favourites. The Gypsosphinx will be a Type L model, costing $20 or 5 Type M choices.





But thats not all. If we reach $15,000 we also unlock Chirm, the Kobold Alchemist, for backers at the Gearforged level and higher.



New FAQ Added

Also, a new FAQ has been added to the home page - this time about what levels receive the bonus kobolds. The short version is that all selected reward levels above those list get the bonus kobolds. Please note this isn't about how much money you've spent but the highest reward level you've selected. For more information check the FAQ.

Well the hand sprue customisation poll is now closed and we had 79 backers vote. The minotaur corsair won by 5 votes, with the raven mage and Mharoti Emissary close behind.

So too is the $17,000 stretch goal poll closed. The winner was the Alseid (Deer Centaur).

$25,000 Stretch Goal - Crimson Drake

$28,000 Stretch Goal - Red Sun

If we reach $28,000 Red Sun will be unlocked as a Type L choice. Red Sun will count as 3 Type M Choices or +$12.

$30,000 Stretch Goal - White Day

If we reach $30,000 White Day will be unlocked as a Type L choice. White Day will count as 3 Type M Choices or +$12.

$32,000 Stretch Goal - Black Night

If we reach $32,000 Black Knight will be unlocked as a Type L choice. Black Night will count as 3 Type M Choices or +$12.

$28,000 Bonus Mini - Neimheim Gnome

Continuing the Baba Yaga theme, we have our first bonus Gnome. Gnomes in Midgard struck a deal with Baba Yaga and struck an infernal bargain with her for power.

If we reach $28,000 we'll give everyone who gets BANDIT KING reward level or higher a Neimheim Gnome.



$30,000 Bonus Mini - Koboldthulhu

If we reach $30,000 we'll give everyone who gets GUILD LEADER reward level or higher another free mini - the Koboldthulhu.



$32,000 Bonus Mini - Kobold Beetle Rider

If we reach $32,000 we'll give everyone who gets GUILD LEADER reward level or higher another free mini - the Kobold Beetle Rider.

Gearforged Huntsman Unlocked

Reaching $22,000 means that the Gearforged Hunstman is now available as a Type M choice.



And all backers at the SCOUT reward level or higher get the Kobold Knight added to their pledges. Backers between BANDIT and DWARF can get him by adding $4 to their pledges.
