EDIT: turning this into a general infinity thread, now that I've started collecting, myself

So, did these as a commission, pretty happy with the results, so I thought I'd share. A few more details on my blog (http://spiralingcadaver.blogspot.com/2012/12/your-eyes-shine-just-like-mine-step.html)

Wow, very nice and creative effects on the blacks.

The blacks are stunning.

I like the glowing effects.

The high-sheen synthetic-material blacks are great, but the glow effects are even better.

The eyes on the... uh... Sophotect (curse these CB names!) are especially nice.

I think a non-white, less-bright, higher-contrast background (shopped in after photography maybe) would have shown these minis off to even greater effect.

(Did I use enough hyphens?)

I'm genuinely torn - the stylized effects (purple glow, reflective black) are great, but it feels like a lot of the sculpted subtlety is lost. As a painting exercise it almost feels like a waste of the base models' quality (and believe me, the visual impact is strong enough to make saying even that difficult). As gaming miniatures to be viewed at arm's length, however, these are absolutely fantastic.

Are they perfect or do I want more out of them? I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK, ANYMORE! Thanks, spiralingcadaver. You've set my critical eye spinning in a dizzying loop.

Great work on the glowing effects on such tiny eyes .

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted.

I agree that I could have pushed the detail/subtlety for the minis more, but I think you got it right-- I was hired to do gaming minis, not display minis.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my own ALEPH, since I do agree that Infinity has some of the most subtle details out there. However, I'm already repeating the color scheme on my own Malifaux Kirai crew, since those models are notably less detail-oriented than Infinity's line. In short, I'm happy with the paint job, but agree that it might not have fit best with Infinity's details.

Fantastic work. These minis are nothing if not distinctive, really like the striking colour scheme!
