Hey guys,
I have been thinking of getting my hands on some trojans or atlases. My question is what do they do, and what are there strengths/weaknesses. I am downloading IA apocalypse 2 right now and will then move on to IA1: Imperial Guard & Imperial Navy. Any ways, while there downloading I thought I would get an idea of what they do, what they can't do and what are there strengths and weaknesses. I have absolutely no idea what they do so any indication to their purpose will help.

Trojans and Atlases are for putting in your Imperial Guard diorama.

Ingame, they are for uselessly sitting around, taking up points, and maybe providing cover.

So they have literally no point? Can't they two immobile vehicles or repair them or anything?

Ill be able to check their rules in a day or two but just wanted to get an idea of what they do before hand.

The Atlas is worthless, it has some rules but they're all garbage. The only thing it's remotely good for is being the cheapest possible AV 14, which has some potential as a mobile terrain piece. I still wouldn't take one though.

The Trojan is decent, it's cheap and it gives preferred enemy to a nearby tank or artillery unit. The only downside is that they're hard to get, you can only get them as dedicated transports for a techpriest (a garbage unit, the cost of which makes the Trojan no longer efficient enough to take), or as part of a heavy artillery battery.

Both units have their rules in IA1 second edition, and the rules in any older books are obsolete and no longer legal. Since you're obviously just pirating your books you won't be able to use these units, since the book is new and doesn't seem to be available to download yet. Oh well. Perhaps you should buy your rulebooks instead?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
