I read through the rumour thread but couldn't find anything. Just wondering if its proposed that the new book will see chaos daemons lose EW

also any word on if daemons will be losing the fearless? I know they gained fear in the BRB, and daemons have their own entry in the BRB, but is it thought that the new codex will only utilize the new "daemon" rule from BRB.

If losing fearless and EW were to happen I could see daemons becoming severly nerfed.

I can see EW going away, but not fearless. I mean they're daemons for feths sake

I heard only the multiple wound models would be retaining EW.

My speculation on the subject is as follows.

Daemons lose army wide EW. Greater Daemons have ability to purchase it in the form of a Gift.

Daemons retain army wide Fearless.

That would certainly make the WD upgraded Flamers and Screamers a bit less cringeworthy. As they are now our daemon player can lose half of them deepstriking and still melt face like mad.

Given DP have lost EW in the chaos dex, "YES" seems an appropriate response.

Considering that DP in the daemons dex are the only real ranged anti-tank, this is a heavy pain if it came to pass.

I could see them losing it, absolutely. It makes sense, too: in older fluff, Daemons were particularly vulnerable to Force Weapons because of the way those weapons severed the soul from the body.

My only hope is that they get something to make up for it; EW was supposed to represent their supernatural resilience (along with the invul save, of course), so hopefully there'll be something that better. Having "It Will Not Die" would be perfect

(Though if Tyranids set any precedent, then we probably won't get anything to replace it...)

Cast your minds back to before the WD and remind yourself of how terrible Daemons are. I don't get all this butt hurt if the new 2! Units. Daemons are still a sub par codex yet people who can't handle deploying to counter a deep striking flamer unit want then nerfed into oblivion.

I don't think anyone here is saying Daemons need to lose EW because they're OP, more that it's likely that they will in the wake of CSM losing EW on their Daemon Princes.

As a Daemons player myself, I love having EW but I can still see it disappearing.

I wouldn't mind the lesser daemons losing EW (fearless should stay though i believe) but I think it would be crazy if the Greater Daemons lost EW
