Is this an insane idea or funny, to use master of the forge, 3 dreadnoughts and with the spare elite spaces, shove in 30 termies? Of various varieties.

Well, it's 1725 points before you buy any troops, so it's not really that crazy.

Keep in mind that C:SM dreadnoughts aren't really that amazing. They're decent but what's the point making them heavy support to take 30 Terminators, just take 30 Terminators and a diff HS choice?

MotF is good for his conversion beamer and if you want to take 4-6 Dreadnoughts in a C:SM list. But really, if you love Dreadnoughts (I know I do!) then play BA, you can take awesome ones as Elites, normal ones as HS and Deathcompany Dreadnoughts as troops even!

I actually went against this list a month or two back. If I remember it was Master of the Forge on a bike with a conversion beamer, 3 dreads, and sternguard.

Team game with him teamed up with CSM.

Unfortunately he went against two Tau players and the Dreads got taken down really quickly. The master of the forge was taken down by Firewarriors in Overwatch. Only the Sternguard remained and stayed hidden on objectives with the AP3 bolters to keep the crisis suits at bay.

Honestly it looks like a fun list though. It's just with 3 light armored units you run the risk of them getting popped early on.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

but to what use? getting dreadnaughts? GK can get 60 terminators and 6 dreads in a normal force org(although not under 2000 points)

Its an uber elite army but not a very successful one.

Just play deathwing and make all those termies troops. Nice cheap ven dreads with plasma cannons. Sounds a little better to me. Then again the new DA dex isn't here yet.

Thanks for answers guys, I'm staying with the vanilla space marine codex as I play Crimson Fists. Hmmm. If I went with the idea, what troops to take?

the master of the forge should be on a bike

Drop pod 3 ironclads and sternguard/termies. If you survive round one of shooting, you will have a big ol grin on your face.

Camo cloaks on scouts. Cheap, can infiltrate, and has a nice cover safe to keep them safe while the rest of your force does the real work.
