I've been wondering about Imotekh's "Staff of the Destroyer". It has it's one time shooting attack, but what is it after you shoot? Is it a Staff of Light? Is it a Warscythe? Is it even a power weapon? I can't seem to find anything on it anywhere else, and I haven't found anything in the Codex :(

It is nothing. Not even a Close Combat Weapon.

Correct.

His poor close combat, is meant to balance out his wicked set of board-wide abilities. You'll notice a theme in all the Necron Special characters like that.

The Gauntlet of fire actually isn't a bad weapon. It gives you a Flamer Template/overwatch with it and a Reroll to failed hits and wounds. It's just completely overshadowed by the Warscythe it comes to picking weapons for Overlords, that's why you never see it.

yeah, I actually like the idea of the Gauntlet, and for only 5 points. The armor pen is almost too good to pass up sometimes against armies like Marine's :( anyway, thank you for the help, it clears up a lot for me

You're not buying Imotekh for his close combat abilities...

I use it from time to time. I have a small pack of warriors that I vomit out of my monolith sometimes and their lord carries one to help clear things up when they get out. 5 points for a S4 template isn't bad. Though I think in general use I rather have the Staff of Light.
