Subject: can anyone tell me how it is done? exhaust fumes from Jump Packs; fire from guns
A company called Armourcast do weapon effects quite cheaply. For flame and smoke effects I use woodland scenics foliage glued to an armature of wire or plastic as below:
Spray the foliage black and then stipple in some flamey colours near where you want the flames to be and drybrush a few shades of grey over the smoke.
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
These guys do it right. I've used their stuff before with great results.
