Hey Hey!
Well I am not sure all of you have listened to the newest
40K Radio episode but GNT is headed back to Duel Con this year. We will be doing all sorts of cool stuff prior to this year's con like moseying down to a local shooting range to let off a few rounds (Romeo will be on hand to help teach people to shoot), and into the desert for a tour to learn about the history of the area and the relationship between the Native Americans, US army, and the cowboys and gold prospectors…. This year however we have another cool treat.
With the upcoming release of the Wild West Exodus Kick Starter we will be making sure we have loads of WWE goodness. We will go to the studio and meet both the miniature and designer crew. We will see all the new cool goodness, have demos and Romeo has even promised us a discount or two for some gun slinging shopping…
Also we have some rather BIG news… the crew at Wild West Exodus is offering something special to two random tour participants.. If you are one of the first 15 that book the tour you may be chosen for one of the following:
1) One lucky tour participant will be chosen to have his likeness in the Wild West Exodus comic book. Expect to see yourself come to a gruesome end however….
2) Not only that but one tour participant will get his likeness forged into miniature form… That’s right if you ever wanted to see yourself on the tabletop this is a once in a lifetime chance!
So jump aboard the tour yah all and enjoy the Wild West and rolling dice.

Yahooooooooooo!
Teras
Geek Nation Tours
Que in "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" theme music... As Geek Nation Tours is proud to offer you our “Duel Con” Tour. We will be working closely with Battlefoam on this one and are happy to be able to offer all tabletop gamers a tonne of gaming options. We will be pushing the theme as far as it will go. We will offer up some guns to fire, some poker to play, a trip to the desert and even a meander into Battlefoam’s Saloon. And Remember that Duel Con is about two gaming systems going head to head vs one another. Pick a side at high noon the guns will start to blaze...Draw!
Not cowboy-ish enough for you? Well Romeo from Battlefoam has added some cool promotions for us on the tour. He has been busy in Phoenix with a couple of new companies. Thats right you will be able to get right into the shoot out on the tabletop too with Outlaw minatures and the new Wild West Exodus miniatures game.
Two people chosen at random from the first 15 people booked on the tour will immortalized right into the game itself. One will have his or her likeness cast in miniature form. Ever wanted to really be on the tabletop? Well here is your chance. Another will have his or her likeness etched in the Wild West comic book about the game system. Book soon as only the first 15 people will have a chance at this monumental give away!
Want more? Ok how about this - All tour participants will get an inside look on how Outlaw Miniatures creates the cool models in their lineup. You will meet the studio staff that will include painters, concept artists, rule builders, and see several sneak peeks on how models come to life. The Outlaw Miniatures staff will have a Q-A time that lets each tour member fire away with questions about the game and its many models. Participants will also get a walk through of the game from one of the studio staff and get to use fully painted studio armies. Lastly, everyone will see behind the curtain of the upcoming 2014 models and factions waiting to be designed.
Tour members will also be able to demo the game prior to anyone getting their hands on it at Duel con... Yup you'all will be the first in line.
Day 1 (Wednesday September 25th) Today is arrival day. We will meet everyone at the airport and get them to the hotel. Once there we will have a free day of gaming and exploring the area on your own. We will however have a special outing to a local shopping area to allow you to pick up some cerveza and sunscreen. In the evening we will head over to Battlefoam to have a tour of the facility and the
40K Radio studio. After our short tour we will have pizza and beer and our traditional “Welcome to Duel Con” right in the Battlefoam Saloon. We will have some guest speakers and you can dig your claws into Romeo… (no live ammo though please). We will have the Battlefoam “Saloon” all to ourselves and there will be free gaming and beer until we hear the coyotes cry (or until Romeo does).
Day 2 (Thursday September 26th) Today we are off to the firing range. We have arranged for you to shoot off some real gunz at an outdoor range today and live ammo action should be abundant! So sign the waiver and let’s go shoot some Zombies (Zombie Targets included). Plus we will have a special treat as Romeo from Battlefoam and
40K Radio will be teaching us some safety tips and how to aim and fire our weapons. Did you know he use to be a sniper? After shooting some rounds off we will be treated to a visit to the Outlaw Miniatures
HQ to meet the studio staff!
After our time at the range we will see the famous Apache Trail by Jeep and head off-road into the desert. We will explore some of the most awe inspiring rugged scenery the desert has to offer. We will see the Superstition Mountains, Bulldog Canyon, and Tonto National Forest. You will even see some cacti and tumble weeds and maybe even get some ideas for some terrain. Our guide will tell us about the search for hidden gold and how the apaches lived off the land. Make sure you bring your hat - the tour is 6 hours long...
After returning from the hotel we will go to a tour participant favorite for dinner - The Tilted Kilt. We will stay here well into the evening as our long day will have made us "mighty thirsty" (transfers and dinner on own). We will have fun for those that want to just stay back at the hotel however...We should be able to find some pre-Duel Con terrain for you to game with...
Day 3 (Friday September 27th)
Today we will register for the event, pick-up our badges (VIP badges are included in the price of the package
btw) and start the tourni. We can do this with ease as we will be staying right at the hotel that the event takes place in. Roll out of bed, put your holster on, eat your free breakfast, and you will be good to go. You will be free to come and go as you please over the next few days but our representative will always be there if you have any questions.
Each night we will meet for dinner and to regale our experiences, compare our standings, share our tactics or talk about our “war stories”. Past tour participants agree that our meet-ups are an important part of the convention experience – a time where you can get to know other Geeks and maybe hear a great suggestion or two on what to do the following days. You can join us every night or you can do your own thing. Geek Nation Tours wants you to have the most freedom to “Geek Out” as possible so our meetings will be completely optional. With this said I am sure most of us will be up for a beer or two...
Day 4 & 5 (Saturday & Sunday September 28th & 29th)
Game to your heart’s content. Again Teras will be planning come and pay as you go evenings for everyone. Join us for dinner or whatever other trouble we are getting into. Pick-up games will happen each night for those that would like to roll some more bones…But remember that Saturday night is the Freeboota Poker Challenge and as tour participants we will be right there playing. Don’t worry though if Poker is not for you – I am sure we can find some wargaming tables to play on....
Sunday night we will headed off to Buffalo Wild Wings for some final drinks and to shake out the desert from our boots (transfes and dinner on own)
Day 6 (Monday September 30th)
Today we will return to the airport and travel home…
